2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage w/ 5k miles for $79k
-or-
2007 Porsche 911 Carrera S w/ 5k miles for $73k
not too much of a price differnce there so yeah....actually let me rephrase that, "the decent/better models of Porsche cost roughly the same as Aston Martins."
Ok, if you read any Motor magazine, USA or Euro, there are so many jokes about the Boxster being a girl's car/ the entry level Porsche; ergo Im not insulting anyone, just repeating what is "common knowledge."
Spelling and grammer lessons, huh? I miss a keystroke on the word "will" and don't write it "I'd"? Oh yeah definetly need spelling and grammer there.
And also I just looked up some 2002 Porsche Boxster S w/ around 52k miles and they're between $20k-$30k (depending on condition I guess) so thats what? The same price as a 2007 TL-S these days?
So virtually you picked up someone else's mistake of buying a car that depriciates very quickly during an economic recesion so you can look "cool"?

a tl-s is a 4 door car, a boxster is a sports car
I am lucky enough to buy a car in this economy, a porsche of all cars, to use as a pleasure vehicle.
I bought someone elses mistake?? if you have an auto in your car, what do you call that? someone else got rid of that so they wouldn't have to pay for the tranny that will take a crap.
even though the boxster is an entry level car, it is all porsche. Some people prefer the balance of the boxster to the 996 or 997.
meh, you are now nominated for ban games.. congrats

the troll makes no sense anyway. Cuts up Porsche at the end of the one post for depreciation, when his 2007 Aston/Porsche comparison in the same post shows how bad the Aston depreciation is. He owns himself.

I think it's most people who've driven them agree that Boxsters and Caymans handle better than 911 cabs or 911 coupes respectively, mid engine is a much more beneficial concept than rear engine when it comes to handling and balance.

I totally missed this until I read one of your posts.
I love the color. Looks great. One of my friend gf had one. She really liked it a lot. Good luck with it.
Any updated pics of her?

I just got the car off jackstands last week. I spent about a week and a half replacing my cv boots and i damaged a ball joint in the process. to replace the ball joint, you need to replace the entire control arm.
I finally go the job done after 8 hours of working on it. I also replaced the rear tires with bridgestone pole position re960's.
So far they seem a little squirrely, but it also may be out of alignment from messing around with the rear.
So friday i get an alignment and a state inspection.
I have taken car of pretty much everything from the ppi except the 60k service. I'll be doing that at the end of next winter when it hits 60k.
THe rms was on the ppi to be repaired since it had a little moisture around it. BUt i have not seem much leaking at all.
I will get the rms fixed when it is time to get a clutch installed.
I also found an indie porsche mechanic that was recommended, so i can at least save a little money.
It is a great "girls" car as everyone calls it

^ Glad to see you're getting her ready for some spring/summer fun! My neighbor had a Boxster and we had a blast in that thing last summer. You're going to love it.
Don't pay any attention to the trolls who have never driven the Boxster and simply repeat what other trolls who have never driven the car have said in the past.
You do realize that while yes, we are in a recession, there are still tons of people with money and who are spending it.... right?
And for the record, the Boxster is one of the best handling Porsche's behind the Carerra GT. Look it up in those magazines who all supposedly call the Boxster a "girl car".
Oh to be 19 and stupid (but think I know everything) again...

it's prob one of the best deals out there.
at the 19 statement, you are dead on.
Put it this way i paid 15,750 for the car and it was in great shape and i am going to enjoy the fuck out of it:race:
The next car will be the cream puff that i will use exotic frogskin dried in exactly 78 degree 40% humidity to get the fluffiness of a cloud so it will just glide over the surface when i wash it.

^ Yeah, you can steal these things pre-owned now. Definitely a great pickup.
I've been contemplating doing this myself... but I am likely going to hold off on an extra car for now. If I do I will likely go Boxster or S2000...

Which magazine ever said the boxster is a girls car? I have NEVER read that anywhere.
Actually I have read that the boxster/cayman is so well balanced that buying a 911 becomes questionable.
#109
i think anyone who knows nothing about cars say that. We have a salesman that likes to tell people that i have one, and their response is that its a girls car. doesn't bother me one bit. Typically those who have no clue will never get it

FYI, the question mark comes before the end quote. Also, it's spelled "definitely." I would consider rephrasing the last sentence--it just doesn't make sense.
