Help me understand the logic...
My 2006 TSX has this awesome feature that so many other cars do not seem to have and I don't understand why?
When I press the "unlock" button on the key fob, it unlocks the doors. All of them. On the first press.
What is the logic behind making me press it twice to unlock all doors except the driver's door?
I find this very frustrating.

I thought the norm was having to push the unlock button once to unlock just the drivers door, then you have to push it a second time to unlock all the doors.
The only logic I have is that the drivers side door is already unlocked at the point of pushing the button a second time or that yo shit is messed up.

Like madcaps said, that seems backward. My TL remotes unlock the driver's door on the first press of the "Unlock" button, unlock all doors on the second press, and open the windows and sunroof if the Unlock button is not released on the second press.
You may want to confirm your remotes are 1) linked to the car, and 2) MID settings are set to open the driver's side door lock first.

Hweird. It's supposed to be the other way around. My TL's key fob is press once for driver door and twice for all doors.Or maybe the TSX senses your intent to trade it in for BMW and is now screwing with you in retaliation.

And depending on the car you can usually program the car to either open one or all with one push...I know the bimmer dealer can do this.
With my Challenger its a menu option in the control panel.
Just have to research.
I don't think his "shit is messed up" I think you guys are reading it wrong. He is saying other cars make you press it twice to unlock all doors except the drivers, meaning the drivers unlocks on the first press, all others on the second.
Agree, it is a safety feature and I am willing to bet you could change your TSX to only unlock the drivers side too, just happens to be set to unlock all now

On an Acura you can adjust this setting and many others by going into the memory settings on the MID. It doesn't require a trip to the dealer.

I had no idea it was adjustable. Hopefully whatever I get into next will be adjustable too. Whenever I am in a different car/rental/stolen ride, I hate having to press it twice to get into the passenger side or back doors.
Also, I sprayed my FOB with RAID last night to be sure no one was hitching a ride inside...

My car unlocks all doors and the trunk with one push, and if I hold it down for more than half a second it likes to start rolling down all of my windows... I like this more than the two clicks deal, but I can see it being a safety hazard in shit parts of town.

The curious thing to me is that the default setting fromthe factory is one push for drivers door, 2 for all doors so somewhere along the line, your setting was switched. Maybe your salesman did what he was supposed to do and went through the options for you when you bought the car and set it up accordingly. That's the way I do it

My Subie and Odyssey both unlock the drivers door on first push, then a second push unlocks the other doors.
Had no idea that it was a programable item. Maybe it can be set to deliver me a French whore on three pushes?

So this isn't a ...."My Key Fob Is Broken So I Picked This Up" thread.
I'm confused.
By the way I like that if I hold down the Unlock button on mine it rolls the front windows down.

You never know when you will be running from one of these and need to get in to you car.

YES....He knows how to open doors. He uses one of his legs. Been practicing for months.
Mine rolls down all four windows and opens the sunroof when I hold it down. I find it very useful when I'm leaving work and the car has been sitting all day in August. I'll hit the button as I'm walking up, and by the time I open the door, the car is only as hot as it is outside (versus the well-over-100 it was prior to being opened up).

SHe says it's a safety thing for her, if she's in a parking lot and someone is after her she doesn't want them to be able to jump into the passenger side
How about this time?
I actually like the feature where you press once for driver door to unlock and twice for everything to unlock. I mean, if I'm by myself and walking to my car, I would only need the driver door to be open. The other doors would be irrelevant. Some can argue its a "safety feature", which I can see it is possible to be one. Like other people have mentioned, you can just change the settings to unlock at once, but personally for me, I like the once for driver door, twice for everything else. Makes more sense to just have the driver door open, if I am by myself.
