I think an Evo is a wee but too much for me.Supposed to be mid to high $30k correct? I think it will most likely be a 350Z. I will try to look for one from an older guy who used it as a weekend car. Thank you everyone for your advice with my decision. And as soon as I get it I will post pics of what most likely be a stock white 350Z !

I say 350Z. Maybe look at a G35 coupe, they are priced very similarly, and the g seats 4 people. My only concern would be winters(oh, and potholes, b/c you are so low to the ground). This was not an issue for me, as it never snows here and the roads are pretty good. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I am partial to the STi having owned one before. I bought it used with 14k on the clock and it was a nice car. I do say that before you buy an STI take an extended test drive that includes all types of driving conditions. It truly is a race car with license plates and the suspension is extreme for everyday use if you are used to a smooth riding car. Other than that the car is super fun and gets looks everywhere you go and everybody and their mother wants to race you for some strange reason.

+1 for the G, but I'm biased.

I enjoyed my 3 years of ownership of a 2003 350z enthusiast silver coupe. Picked 1 up the first week they rolled in to the dealership Labor Day weekend 2002. Car drove fantastic. Gas mileage was good and it was extremely reliable. Complaints include the cheap plasticky interior, harsh ride especially over potholes which were bone-jarring, and lack of cargo space with the horizontal bar running across beneath the hatchback and across the rear cargo bay which effectively precluded storage of any large boxes. Still could fit in 2 sets of golf clubs though. Stock audio pales in comparison to Bose system in my RL. Never drove an STI though. Look forward to the Evo X though, photos look tits.

Thats funny, some Evo owners buy STis for daily drivers because there suspesnion is so much softer.

True. I got an STI after owning a TSX so it was like riding in a go-cart compared to the tsx. Now my Cayman is just right. It rides as compliant and comfortable as a TSX without the overyly harsh ride and can bend corners like there is no tomorrow.

I have enjoyed owning both a 04 G35 6mt and a 05 STi at the same time. I bought the G35 when I lived in Southern California. Shortly after buying the G I went to Stillen and bought 19" Volk GT-C's for it and had Stillen do all the necessary suspension work. Beautiful car. When I moved back home to Chicago I immediately bought Blizzaks for my stock rims for the upcoming winter. It wasn't enough for me. The Blizzaks really didn't help. I had to find a different option. The Sti was it! I bought the Sti last January and kept both cars for three months. I ended up selling the G. The G had a nicer interior and great exhaust note, but the STi beat it in almost everything else that mattered to me (performance, handling, braking). If your looking for performance all year round, buy the STi. If you want looks and RWD, buy the Z.

Quote: it's just an observation I've noticed... pull up to any STi at a light and if you even rev your engine the slightest bit (with or without the intention to race)... or glance at the driver in any way or make some kind of eye contact, you know the guy's gonna race... 9 out of 10 times. They have the mentality that every light is a race... it's in their nature. Try it.

Whenever it happens, where I pull up next to a STi (or EVO), and for whatever reason I... (by accident) make eye contact with the driver... I immediately hold my cell. phone up pretending I'm text messaging to let the guy know, I AM NOT GOING TO RACE YOU... works everytime. (I don't pick battles where I know I'm NOT going to win).

NOT the case with Z drivers... the only time I get the same kind of drivers with the Z's are the ones that are mod'd.

my point is... with all the used cars out there... chances are, buying a STi... you gonna have a car that's (most likely) gone through more wear and tear. It's like marrying a girl that you know she's probably "been around the block a few times".
this is so true and I agree with you. I might try that texting thing...

B/c NIssans are garbage. I've driven em all. They don't impress me at all. Nissan interior is absolutely bleh.

The 350z is supremely overpriced.

z is a more "mature car" compaired to the sti... it just looks like a toy car (so does the evo).

test drive, read forums, research and make a decision. it's not ours to make =D

good luck with your choice, post pix when you get "it"
the 350z is a "mature" car? LOL

Quote: wtf? Why would you even compare to something that doesn't even exist in US and why 8 year old car, skyline gtr?
hmm..i was just comparing the sti and 350z...which are both being sold in the US....i was using the GTR as a reference, and I was talking about the skyline gtr R34, which is more like a 4-5 years old car. When 350z was first introduced, the r34 was still in production.

Can someone tell me if there are any changes coming for the 08 Z? I am seriously considering a Z once I can get one of the 07 leftovers.

yes and no. it will be going pretty strong but the GT-R gonna be price WAAAAAY above (no firm numbers yet but what i project) the 370Z. i'd say atleast 25-30 grand above a loaded Nismo.
