Would you be too embarrassed to drive this?
I had to pick up and drive this lease return in to work to return to the dealer this morning (another service I do for a customer, pick up and drop off their lease returns for them) - it's a 2007 with only 19k miles. That's Brooklyn for ya

yes, i would definitely be embarassed to drive it if I knew I could to better. for an immigrant or poor person, that acura would be gold.
it reminds me of a TL i saw driving with no back bumper whatsoever. I laughed for at least a mile.
edit: oh and brooklyn didnt do that...no, some people can't drive (whether it was the driver of this TL or whoever hit the car)

Drifting
I don't think that would bother me, unless I was the person that caused it.
The only cars I would hesitate to drive would be the "art cars" with crap glued all over them.

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
I drove a Daewoo in the Middle East that had the following features:
The car was blue, but the doors were different shades of blue.
The Radio antenna was a coat hanger, no joke. (the radio stations all sounded like they were sacrificing goats, so I don't know if the listening to the radio was worth it).
The hub caps, all three of them, were held on by plastic tie wraps.
The 4th wheel had no hubcap.
It had different tires all around.
No A/C, and it was 110 in the shade. With the windows down, the wind hurt.
Dent on the top of the trunk (how do you do that?).
I'll drive the TL. No issue.

i exaggerated above obviously
i just mean that if that is all one can attain, then no they should not be embarrassed whatsoever! If one can do better and settles for a beat up TL, then yes, they should be embarrassed.

oh it has to do with it, but nvm; it was a poorly worded stereotype that should have never been said.
back on topic, i think this situation (of whether one would be embarrassed or not) is relative to what you can afford; not everyone should be embarrassed driving a beat up TL. don't you guys agree??
and thanks for the suggestion to get an education, but I will take my 3.55GPA at one of the nations best architecture schools...but then again, I should be embarrassed with that if I was one who could have done much better...

well actually most of the immigrants I know are rich as hell
anyways I wouldn't be embarrassed at all. Had a part time job at a body shop before, sometimes we need to get the vehicle to tire shop that's 3 miles away before the body work is done.
The worst i've been in is a corolla with no front/back bumper, no hood, missing door skins on the passenger side. I had to zip tie the license plate on the frame. Who cares, i'm just doing my job.

Most immigrants I know are doctors or are rich as hell. They drive BMWs and Benzes, and a few have Acuras.
In any case, this thread gives me a good reason not to buy a lease return. That puppy was not well cared for at all.

Why be embarrassed? It's not something the owner chose to do to the car. I'd drive a Geo Metro and not feel embarrassed. Who cares what other people think about your wealth? The only thing I would be embarrassed to drive is some riced out hooptie with a turbo whistler or a donk or something like that.

Nope. Not embarrassed to drive anything. I may be ashamed if a vehicle is dirty, but it's my own fault for allowing it to get that way.
