my brother in law and I was talking about his next ride he's buying.
I was throwing out ideas out at him. I Suggested a Jag S type R( he REALLY wants a M5 but my sister won't let him spend that much) the S type about 20 grand less. he said "Jag's quality sucks." which it did. It's owned by Ford. However I thought I read some where they fired either a high up at Jag or a excutive of quality and brought in a new guy and he was really "busting heads." as far as high expecations.

 

Their quality has always been fine.

Their dependability is still questionable.

We had a 98 XJR that had 120k on it before it was traded in for a new car. Only one problem and that was fixed under warranty (some wiring issue). Loved the car, would buy another one in a sec.

I'm even more happy about tommarrow. Sunday afternoon my momma taking my daughter and me out to lunch . then late afternoon my "boys" are coming over and we'll probably get a pizza and watch the NASCAR race or go paintballing(depending on how they feel and how much money they have). normally I have to work Sunday nights but since it's memorial day weekend I got this sunday night off.

 

I would definitely say that the quality has gone way up, my dad has had 2 jags, a 1990 white XJS V12 which he has now passed on to me, and a 2002 XJR. i remember as a kid all the problems the white one would have, always somthing wrong with it . .now adays its runnin pretty well, thankfully, caus i couldnt afford to fix it, lol. But the XJR was on a 4 year lease, and when we gave it back, it was running perfect. we never had to bring it into the dealership once for any unscheduled maintenance, it was the most reliable car we have had to date i would say, and i actually found that kind of surprising. anyhow, i hear that the S type R's have the same quality and reliability that the XJR had, so id say go for it
