I am considering tinting mine so I was wondering if anyone has been fined for it? And if so how much was the fine?

 

yep...pensacola backwoods florida. got a fix-it ticket, that could have mutated into a $200 fine.

 

had mine for a while, and no.

 

I think everyone should be ticketed for for those damn things. The day that I rear end someone because they slammed on their brakes but I couldn't tell before it was too late because of them, I'll take their ass to court before I let any cop tell me its my fault.

 

It is illegal if you go too dark. You have to consider the drivers behind you when you do such a mod; most people want it as dark as possible. I'm not sure how other states are, but in Illinois, the taillights have to be completely visible at 500 feet away with the brakes applied. With that in mind, try to smoke them as light as possible. I did mine 20% from one of the sponsors here. When you look at smoked tails, remember, lower is lighter. With Window tints, higher is lighter. They offer 20%(smoked) or 30%(dark smoked).

I live in FL too. How much was your fix it ticket?

 

i have mine on my old legend for a while here in chicago and never got pulled over for it (actually wasn't pulled over at all during that stretch) also had a cop tail me in texas for about 25miles (on the innerstate) and he didn't seem to care all that much about it.

Althou i have heard of poeple getting pulled over for it and getting fix-it tickets to get it removed, so you goto court and show the judge and on your way with your tinted tails
