steps...
wash
clay
wash
seal
wax
treated all leather
treated all floor mats
cleaned engine
dressed tires
Once washed, much to me total shock, the car was VERY free of swirling. I expected it to be really bad but there was almost nothing there, at least nothing that really needed to be polished out right now, but maybe before winter. I was very happy with th efinal outcome. I totally forgot to get a pic of the after shot of the engine which sucks because it looked brand new. Maybe Ginash can snap a pic for me. Now the pics...
lack luster with little shine
Great before engine shot.
So after 6.5 hours, here's the afters. The pics do it NO justice...

Post some pics of it. I am really leaning towards getting a G as my next car.
My I35 is almost at 100K and drives great. I think I may get a G once I have my finances in order. May not be for another year or so, but it's looking more and more do-able.

My first night bringing her home last April.
My first "mod" billet grille (I know),and clear corners.
Then the wheels!! I was sooo stoked when these came in!! This was also the day John, Terry and others put on my H-Techs.
Next came a new exhaust system.
Also, I changed out the front grille
Next on the list, Santa brought be a body kit!! Replica greddy sides and kenstyle rear.
Next up I went with a Bat black roof overlay.
Also since winter there is an additional 1/2" drop in the rear. I also added an Intense Motorsports N-1 front lip. Also did a bunch of engine stuff like 5/16 spacer, grounding wires, polished injen intake, polished plenum, color matched battery/brake covers, Zex 100 shot nitrous system etc. Strangely enough I don't have pics of the engine yet but if anyone else does hit me up.
So here again is the before...
and a bunch of afters...
So that's where she's at now. HUGE thank you to Terry, John, Larry, Eli, Jeff and anyone else that has helped do the things I have no idea how to do (pretty much everything except detailing  ). Without your willingness to help a chump like me out, she'd still be pretty stock or I'd be broke as a joke!!Props also to my wife who happens to be the coolest thing since sliced bread and for putting up with my $hobby$. Also thank you to Johnny, Brad, Dino and Danny for the great pics.

Very shiny. He did a nice job.
I need to find a good detailer in my area. My TSX has a lot of swirl marks and some scratches I'd like to get taken care of.

post pics of the NSX
, but only about the yawning.... always post more pics of the NSX whenever possible. Very clean! Looks great inside and out, and I know what the guy means, silver and silver-ish colors with metal flakes don't pop as much in photos as they do i real life

nice RL! you should tell your detailer I can't believe he doesn't remove the "Infiniti of Lisle Superstore" license frame! Come on, you don't want to advertise for the dealer.

He is INCREDIBLE and is the most anal retentive person I know (when it comes to detailing). This my friend is a fine attribute of a great detailer!
prices here:
http://chicagoz.com/detail/clean.html
According to him, my RL didn't require much work, but on a black car, he worked on it for like 13-16 straight hours.. no joke.

Regarding the lack of swirls:
Since you mentioned you rarely washed the car, it's not too surprising. Swirls tend to be introduced by improper drying technique after a wash. Also, dark colors really show swirls while light colors hide them better.
