GTO

I'm shopping for a new car and I decided to go down and check out a new Pontiac GTO. Thisn't the top car on my list but it's new and it has 350hp with a 6speed Much to my surpise the dealership had a 5k market adjustment for the thing. This adjustmend brought the car to 39k I'm aware that dealers do this from time to time on certian vehicles but 5k???? I've seen adjustments on cars/ trucks like the SRT-4 and the SVT Lightning but they're all around 2k and usually negotiable. I just kept thinking for 39k I could probably cut a sweet deal on a vette. And its on a Pontiac Oh well the WRX STi that I drove earlier today is faster and the G35C looks a hell of a lot better both for less money.

damn, a 5k market adjustment! The market adjustment on the new RL we just got was only 3995 and I thought that was kind of high

Get the G35

Way to go dealers. No wonder i have yet to see one on the road around here. 5k markup for a car that is just not that hot. Go G35 coupe.

Geisha how the hell do you guys have an RL already?

Just wait. There's usually a dealer markup for brand new cars. $5K is retarded though.

Is this new car gonna replace the CLS?

I'd go with the STi or the G coupe.

ya i have not even seen one on the road yet.... not that i would notice it if i did.... lol...... but no reason there should be markup.

at NY autoshow it was the only car that not a single person was even glancing at. haha

nice car but barely worth its sticker as it is. let alone 5k +

Never pay over sticker for a domestic. In fact never pay sticker. Remember the PT cruiser, Thunderbird EtC....When the Crossfire came out, the idiots up thee street had a $10K price adjustment

Its nice. They really improved the interior, but for 40 gs no way. Id say get the g35 or sti. Both are very hot cars. The pontiac is very bland looking. I've seen 3 on the road already, and the only way i noticed them was from the exhaust noise first then i would look over and see the gto. I dunno some people might like the bland pontiac styling but i dont.

lol... 39k for a Pontiac. Dealers need to put down the crack pipe and step back into the real world. The new GTO isn't exactly god's chariot.

I tried to negotiate with a Pontiac dealer locally, and they wouldn't budge off of MSRP.

Give it a few more months... They'll finally see the light.

That is unless this car was a certain classic car you might . . . but after seeing this car . . . there's nothing I saw or heard that gave any indication that it would. Just too plain looking. The only thing going is it's got an engine that's strong to start and can be easily modified to product a 12sec car without too much work.

IMO - I bet the car won't hold more than 60-70% value in about 4 years or so. In other words that $39k car might be selling in the low to mid $20k range.

I agree but it's a Tunderbird with balls. F*cking dumb ass dealers, they must be . I started thinking last night and none of the dealers had any on their lots. Only ones coming in soon with no dates for them. A big reason for the markup right???? Well the guy I was dealing with wasted no time in locating on through GMs locating tools. Maybe GM is hiding them in a hanger someplace and slowing leaking out them GM probably gets the some of the mark up. Oh ya and the guys was more than willing to have it shipped in at my expense, the cost around $500. Screw that shit the guys over at the Infiniti dealership are willing to ship the G35C for free plus from AZ and knock $1500 off the sticker

my mom bought one, and they sold it to her for 38k (dunno whats wrong with her, she didnt even look at the sticker price)

they lied to her and told her that only 2200 were made and they were limited edition, and was worth way more than her 2001 discontinued trans am with low mileage..

so they screwed her over, she was upset, hated the gto because she realized the paid more money for the same engine with uglier styling and then my dad called from south florida (theyre seperated) and said wait, my name is on the car they cant do that , called pontiac up and told them no way..

so they screwed pontiac over cause now they have to sell this gto with money off cause its got like 100+ miles on it now haha.

and when she traded her trans am in.. the whole time she had it and kept complaning the engine was knocking.. pontiac told her they couldnt "replicate the problem" but when they were going to resell it, they replaced the entire lower block to the engine.. so my mom got her car back with half of a new engine.

no no I wasn't joking at all. Hawaii is a little slow and they are still selling new RL's. My grams wanted to get one before the new body style came out in a few months. This is because she is almost 70 and doesnt want to have to learn how to use 394839483 new gadgets in the car, which the dealer said the new model would have.

Now you have to be joking! Your mom paid $3995.00 over MSRP for an RL that Acura cant sell and has loads of dealer cash on

Got a call from another dealer and the dude was all excited. I guess that some guy was supposed to pic up his blue 6speed today but could because he got a DUI over the weekend(dumb ass). By the the time I had called him back the car was gone. Anyway I ask him about thier mark upon it(just to check) and he says that it too is 5k but he has seen it go for as little as 2.5k. I pretty much told him that I'm not willing to pay a cent over invoice.

haha well there aren't many other choices here in HI. We only have one acura dealer and the lexus service SUCKS. She isn't into euro so that pretty much left us with the RL. I don't care, as long as she's happy
