Ground clearance and sidewall size

Greetings old friends

Quick question. I'm feeling a bit reluctant about purchasing a pro-kit for my 2017 Audi a3 Etron (hatchback hybrid).

I am worried that it might be too low (I have not received the springs in the mail yet).

My 2 options are

1) Don't install the lowering springs

2) Install the lowering springs but changing the tires from 225/40/18 to 225/45/18

What do you guys think is the intelligent move?

Changing the overall tire diameter will affect the speedometer. In this case, your speedometer will be about slightly slower than your actual speed.

If I were you, I'd try the lowering springs first to see how it is, before considering changing tires to get back some clearance.

I'm really hoping I'm not going to end up slammed!

It will also affect your odometer. I have to calculate my MPG by first adding 7.8 percent to the miles traveled. Also heavier tires tend to have an effect on handling and gas mileage.

But I did that with my frontier too, and my 2.2cl. I just like large sidewalls I guess.
