Greetings, and opinions please

Hello all,

I just signed up for this forum today. I've lurked every once in awhile looking for car tips, etc.

I currently own a 94 integra LS and I am looking into getting either a new or used acura or honda.

After alot of research I've concluded that the 2006-07 honda accord, 2008 tl, or 2014 tl would be the car that I'm looking for. They've had great reviews and can go the distance in terms of longevity.

Is the 2014 TL the final model of the fourth gen? I have not been able to find that out. I hear most final models of a gen are the best because all bugs have been kinked out.

I am also looking for feedback from you all in terms of the choices I have narrowed it down to. Always better to hear from those who have driven these models. Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome to the board.
I'll let our other resident Acura experts chime in as my 99TL was the last Acura I owned.
Once you settle on a model and year check out the model-specific forums for more info.

Welcome to the forum!!

As was mentioned above, once you decide which route to go, the model specific sections will be a huge help. Even as you're looking you may want to read each section for any comments... good or bad, for each.

As for your question, I can answer one. 2014 was indeed the final year for the TL. For MY 2015+, the TLX was introduced and will be the TL replacement. If I am not mistaken the TLX went on sale in summer of 2014 as a 2015 model...

Thank you for your answer. Did you pick the 2015 out of necessity? Alot of people have claimed that it is best to wait for the gen's last model because of improvements made from the previous models.

2008 TL is timeless. Better yet, find a TL-S.

^ Agreed. That's the last Acura I'd ever consider buying and find desirable.

And welcome to (Car Brand here)Zine!!

Welcome!

And yes, I would still love to pick up a 08 TL-S 6MT.

it seems the 4G TL was just plagued with a lot of problems. Yes, they were built until 2014. I vote 3G TL-S also.

I think it depends on what your plans are...the 3G is definitely sportier, but the 4G has a bigger body and likely interior and comfortable ride. So if you're keeping your teg as your side piece, then the 4G might not be bad. Age kills everything...rubber, headlight plastic...so buying an old car, is a bit harder...a good consideration to have.

Welcome to the forum, officially...I was wondering who was peeking in the window when we were all group showering.

Welcome to AZ!

You would do fine with any of the Honda/Acura products you mentioned. They are all solid choices that will last you many years.

The 3G TL was the best TL, IMHO (style wise and driving and I'm biased, having owned one ), but the 2014 TL out contents it significantly and may be where you want to go depending on price. The guys here in Car Talk will mercilessly tease you for the 2014's styling, though, if you buy one.

Enjoy Acurazine, you'll like it here.

PS Integras are still cool in my book. Great choice.

I actually no longer own an Acura... but I am still aware of most of their models... so just wanted to answer the question about the 2014 TL being the end of the run for that model.

I do agree with RPhilMan1... I'd go with an '08 TL-S if you're looking for a driver. If you want more features and "luxury" look at the 4G TL or TLX) although personally, I think the 4G TL is just )

Damn...even after all the well modified ones to kinda not make it look like a fat girl with skinny legs?

I actually really love the unique and futuristic 4G look

3rd gen TL-S gets my vote. Reliable, and the best looking stock of the 3. I do like the accord too though. With a drop and kit they look pretty good. The 4th gen is a boat and the styling is hard on the eyes.

Welcome to AZ, great place for your research.

IMO, the only way to go is the 2008 TL, preferably a TL-S 6MT.
Great year, as it TPMS, MP3, LED turn-signal mirrors, and the interior red lighting is pretty cool too.

Also alot of good threads and conversations in the 3G TL forum as well.

3G TL/TL-S gets my vote as well. Like most are saying it's one of the best Acura's out there.. Those body lines....

The 4G TL if modded right will look nice.
