Got a TSX Loaner for a couple days (uber test drive)
My 2.3 is in the shop for a little warranty work and to my surprise I got a brand new TSX for my loaner. Now I know many have test driven as I had, So you all know the nitty gritty and the arguements etc etc. I just wanted to give a mini review after getting to have the car for a full day now. A true "test drive" if you will.
Well I have had the TSX all day now and will have till most likely sometime tomorrow. I must say this has been better then when I took a test drive when they first came out. I've really had chance to play with this car on the roads.
This car is a dream. And this is saying a lot since the loaner is a 5AT and im usually strictly a manual driver.
Local street driving was great but the highways, oh the highways. I got on the 134/101 around 7pm to go up and visit a friend and show them the car...
DAMN THIS THING WAS A BLAST!!!!
I was driving like I have been to drive ever since my prelude was totaled. I was doing things in this smooth and quiet 4 banger my 2.3 CL could never do. I had still been skeptical about passing power in the engine since my test was very short and I tell you what, not anymore. Click back twice from 5 to 3 and ZOOM. Try that in my CL and you move, but not as quickly.
Now I can only imagine what the 6spd would have been like. So for anyone who has doubts cause this isnt a 6, forget about them, its a fun quick car.
Handling, nice and tight, very "rails" like. I always turn the VSA off ( my one complaint is that you always have to turn it off everytime you start the car, its not a true toggle switch) and with that little nuissance out of the way you can corner really well, felt like i was in my old prelude only better. I'm will to bet if comptech or whoever makes springs for this car its handling will be AMAZING.
Also the seats, man the seats, just like lude, great side bolstering and great lumbar support. No backs pains for me all day (I have a bad back.) and the seats in my CL, while comfy wear on my spine after awhile. I love the seats.
So, end notes, I will be very sad to return this car to the dealer. I've liked this car since it came out and I first drove it. But getting to really drive and push it, it has exceeded all my expectations. Now, if I could afford one...
MMMmmm Black/Black/6spd/Navi....

Happy CL-S Pilot
Sorry, the TSX does not move faster than the CL... check your reference... It is slower in 1/4 mile and does the 0-60 in 7.0 sec.
It's however deceptively fast car.. you will do some 90 MPH with no sweat!

The car feels quicker then my 2.3. And it reached 60-90 must more effortlessly then my 2.3. Newer technology and all. And like when I had my bimmer, you dont feel the speed at all.
It just felt more fun and quicker then my 2.3. I really liked it. I was flying down the 101 at 100mph no sweat, weaving through traffic, couldnt really do that in my 2.3.

Oh, hahaha no the TSX it not as fast as a CL-S hahaha, never will be heheh.
But as it stands I would take the TSX over a CL-S right now. Just more practical to have the 2 extra doors, and handles better with the smaller set up. I also really like the way it looks.
But hey, aint nothing wrong with a CL-S, as you all well know

Acura of Pasedena, thought Id give them a try and they seem really good so far, but of the course I'll really know how good they are when I get my CL back.

but yeah, it is a cool car, and i'm even thinking about tradeing in my wifes RSX in for the TSX when the babie arrives.

I personally like the tsx better, but you cant really compare. If you are going for performance, you would go with the rsx. It is lighter and has a 0-60 of 6.3 vs7.0 for the tsx. There are so many mods and different things to do to a rsx-s. The tsx has fewer options, but they will come. And then there is the price. A rsx-s will cost you 23 grand and a tsx will be atleast 28. That is five grand. And another factor is whether you want 2 or 4 doors.

The TSX is so different than an RSX it isn't even funny. My ex had the RSX-S and after test driving the TSX and having one as a loaner once myself, they just aren't nearly the same thing like a G35 coupe and sedan are or TL-S and CL-S are. The TSX is certainly psuedo-luxury and the RSX definitely isn't that. The quality of materials, the build, the road noice, etc, etc etc...
While I love the TSX concept, absofu(kinglutely love it's interior and use of space, I had the opposite test drive opinion. It was not "peppy" except in manual form, and then it was only peppy and bland, and the body roll was scary--the car actually would start flat and then lurch deep into a corner. The outer styling was also a turnoff. More importantly, the price was crazy. $28k for this? I got my TL-S for $28.5k!
I'd rather have a lower featured IS300 or A4 1.8t for around $30k...If the car was optioned at $25k, so be it, but it is stepping up in a class that I think offers more than this car.
I still have to reiterate how wonderful the interior is, though. Wonderful.

I'm gonna be taking my TL-S in for service, leather on the seat is bad, bubbling window trim, etc. I hope I get something as nice as the TSX for a loaner.

Well at Pasedena you have to call ahead and arrange for a loaner, you should ask them if its possible.
I think they gave me one cause i brought in a 4 year old car and they want to sell. those fuckers it worked to, notwithstanding i already wanted the car, but now I REALLY WANT IT
