Got the '55 out for some quick photos...
..had some time on my way to a show this morning to pull over real quick. First time I think i've taken photos of this thing in 4+ years. Proud to say I put 1,000 miles on this thing in October alone!

Nice, glad to see it moved with you. Brings back memories of my CL and joining car forums because you had posted it up with your CL before you had it resprayed (the CL that is). Any interior shots?
Oh, glad to see the Cali plates, looks like a west coast car.

The color pics are better than the desaturated versions...you have a paint job to show off!
PS: Its never been my thing...but I could see some awesome pinstriping really setting off that back tailgate!

Love that thing!
Engine shots?

Here's an old photo, unfortunately these valve covers "disappeared" on my when I had a shop doing some engine work. they "don't know" where they went. Real big bummer. They then put on some ugly assed etched flamed valve covers and air cleaner. Luckily they did find this original air cleaner.
I just put new valve covers on the car last week actually, not sure I like them though.
Here is what I wish it still looked like:

I just put these on it, not sure i'm sold on them, but the orange pulls out the color of the flames:
Is the main paint color black or plum? I don't know if it's a special paint you have applied that changes color or you fiddling around with the colors on photoshop...

I know I've already said it, but you got yourself something real sweet there!

Color shifts, base coast is a plum, top coat is a blue/purple that's hard to photo.
For example, when looking from the back the plum really comes out, this is pretty much all natural

this shows the blue that's hard to get to come out in a photo

it's a real hard car to get the various colors to come out in photos and even in person. Most people think it's black from a distance and walk up to it and go, oh it's purple, no it's blue...wait....
only photos 2 and 6 were really doctored away from the natural color

So I've been thinking about new wheels for years, when we bought these 17's were considered big, 18's were about the biggest anyone was doing.
I really want to do an 18" up front and a 20" in the rear. Here are what i've been looking at:
these in either polished or like this (I kind of like them like this)

Pricey but they are nice.
Edelbrock also has a similar design.

You should have made them buy you a new set. You entrusted them with your truck, they are responsible for it.

alright, new wheels may come sooner then I expected. My current wheels are a two piece and are seriously out of whack (boyd made shitty wheels back in the day). The vibration drives me nuts and I'll probably be doing new wheels shortly or start of the year.
Here is what I think i've narrowed it down to. Will be doing an 18x8.5 up front and either an 18x10 or 20x10 in the rear
