Goodbye TL and Acurazine!

I just recently purchased a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 duramax diesel 4x4. I bought it last week and put some 33's on and a small tune! I sold my mom my Tl so its still in the family it will be missed but im sure the truck will take the tl.

Accord--->TL--->Silverado--->?? haha How long you gonna keep the truck before you sell it to your brother, sister, or uncle. LOL. What's the primary use for the truck?
How much to fill up that truck?

With Disel more expensive than gas and the fuel MPG's on the truck, I hope you can write it off your taxes as a business expense. If not, you may want to consider an ECON 101 course.

Also you may want to add some black fender trim to balance the high clearance gap.

I flashed the ecm with efi live. It cost my $89.00 to fill up my tank with the light on i put in 23 gallons and it has a 26 gallon tank, which isnt too bad since the tl took premium. The purpose of the truck is to have something that i dont have to worry about as much as my fragile tl since i am very anal and the truck can take a little more of a hit, and to also transsport my 4 wheeler. I thought about spraying the rear wheel wells with black undercoating to get rid of the white gap.

Ouch man that's gotta rack up gas bills quick! Good color and a good truck though! I can get you a good price on an Injen / Amsoil intake for that rig!

My husband has an '06 Silverado, his is NOT diesel though. He has had hothing but problems with it! It's a real POS. He is only 5k over his warranty and he has already dumped about a g into it.....oh and now his check engine light is on.

Recently a light on the A/C panel when out, was it a fuse? no, was it a bulb? no, the whole stupid A/C panel needed to be replaced. Thanks god for Ebay!

I have always owned honda/acura autos and have NEVER had problems like these. I really hope you do not have the same problems with your new truck! ENJOY!

that's a nice looking truck. your gas mileage mst have been cut in half. and diesel is more expensive than premium gas. at least around where I live.

That pole behind the truck, in the third pic, looks like an exhaust stack.

Congrats on the new ride!

diesel tuning FTW! There's soooooo much power tucked away in those things and it's easy to tap.

Good luck with the truck, personally I would've gotten a used Tundra instead if I were going for a truck.

No way. Chevy Duramax all the way. More powerful, longer lasting, better mileage, faster, way more potential (and in my opinion better looking)

The Tundras junk IMO, for a Fullsize pick up it's only Chevy and Ford. As for diesels, the powerstroke is kind of a pos unless you go upto the 7.3l, the duramax is great as is the cummins, but the cummins comes wrapped in a dodge so the duramax is the only choice.

I think the 6.4 Powerstroke is a good engine, but the 6.0 was indeed a pile. I had one for a short time and it wasn't a good engine. The 6.4s are markedly improved. I've never really understood hopping up a diesel engine in a pickup, as the truck is still limited in what it can do.

OP:
Nice looking truck. I especially like the contrast with the black wheels.

Fast+Straight line seems to work for them. I really think it's because for 1-2k in mods they can go to the drag strip and beat up on a fair amount of cars modified or not, then go to work the next day and talk chit while hauling 10,000#s. There's really no point but I bet it sure is fun.

Duramax for the win wooo.

These trucks get great mileage for there size. I drove mine to MA from FL and got 24.5 mpg on the same tires Andy has on his truck now. And once the dpf crap comes off and I can load a real tune it will move.

Here is mine with just a tune and exhaust.

Oh, I agree. I imagine they are a lot of fun, but for someone like myself who works a truck pretty hard and relies on them for heavy pulling, I still find many of the newer trucks today limited somewhat. I guess it's just the 'ole farmer in my talking.
