good tires on front or on back?
I would have said front right off the bat, after reading everyones' responses, i would say rear.
I have always put the good tires up front, but my skill level driving in the snow is better than the average driver. There is always the unexpected, but driving like a nut in the snow for almost 15 years, has given me a lot of experience and confidence when driving in the snow and rain.
so for most people, rear

trust me, all people rear unless you really are at a track and even there i've found the rear end pulling out b/c the tires suck
NOW we aint talking about 8/32nds vs 9/32nds or 5 vs 6, its 5 vs 10 or even 6 vs 10.
i'm driving a car right now that needs new front tires, we're talking slicks at this point and the rears are already brand new. i've driven in BAD rain with out feeling like i'm going to loose control.
its always the unsteerable axle you need to think about.

I live in a rural area, and my wireless isn't the most reliable. When it goes away I have to rely on the 'ole dialup.
