Good news about Comptech!!!

All my threads about this were closed because it "should be in car talk" SO here it goes again. I called Comptech this morning and spoke with someone regarding the shut down. Actually, Comptech is NOT shutting its doors, it is merely changing hands. The people who bought Comptech actually worked there before. They will re-open under the same name, and begin producing and selling parts again within the next month or two. The same people will be producing the parts, and it will be of the same quality Competch is known for. I asked about the supercharger for the 2g TL and the person I spoke with could not disclose very much information regarding products for the new owners of the company. All she could tell me was it was very possible. SO. Everyone can stop freaking out now, its not the end of the world - or Comptech.

I think they're setting up close to Shad Huntley's place in Gold River.

Yes, it's all true. I spoke with one of the original owners on Monday and was basically told the same thing.

Word from Comptech.

if Shad is involved they should still shut down shop

<---doesn't like comptech, shad, or their "quality" parts

I'll just leave it at that.

What was the problem? I've used multiple comptech products and never had a problem. I personally know of many others using their products including their supercharger kit and have no issues at all. If you just say "lol @ quality" you better have some sort of facts to back it up.

BTW -

Their service/support may not be the best, but they do always get me the answers if it means speaking directly to the techs. They were always willing to help me find a specific part I needed from the kit. I once asked them for gaskets/nuts/bolts/fluids and rather than taking my money they said I was better off going local. Again, their communications aren't top notch, but they have always in the end helped me solve any problems.

That's a rediculous statement, Comptech's quality is second to none.
I saw another comment on someone not willing to buy their parts until they get cheaper, that is not likely to happen.
I talked with someone there who said they weren't charging enough, which was part of the problem.
The design, research and testing Comptech puts their products through is extremely extensive, as well as their cost of high quality materials that goes into the products offered.
I've seen and heard of many other products leaking, breaking and falling apart, etc.
There is a reason you don't hear of these problems with products from Comptech, they are the best money can buy.

Shad left Comptech and opened up a shop of his own in the area.

This is great news! I never thought my 2G would breathe with an Icebox, CT headers and exhaust after the whole ordeal.... but there is hope after all.

Haven't kept track.... but is there an SC kit in the works for the 3G TL-S? Just curious.....

I'm so excited.... NOT.

Say goodbye to quality welds on my Comptech headers. I better not see "Made in China" on my headers...

Here's the latest.......

Hello,

We are now back up and running again, and parts are available. Unfortunately the new site is not 100% complete as of yet. If you need any info on parts, you can call us at 916-635-4550, email us at info@comptechusa.com, or just send us a message through myspace. Thanks for considering Comptech.
