good HID kit?

I'm looking for a good HID kit for my GTO, anyone know where to go? A sponsor on my GTO board is selling these for $250, but I have no clue what they are, who makes them, etc.

Here are the contents:

glad to see you are finally taking the plunge

I have never heard of those ballasts or the company, but there are a lot of no-name brands that work great. Stay away from mcullough (sp?) ballasts, as well as tinted bulbs.

I would also check in with excelerate and see what he can sell you a kaixen kit for

The only thing I can tell you about a/m HID kits is watch out for the bulbs... I've been researching it because I want to do it in my Jeep but more than likely, you'll need a bulb that has a shield. If you don't, it is my understanding that the light dispertion will be terrible. I don't know what the headlights on the GTO look like off hand but I don't thnk they are projectors. If they aren't, you'll need those shields. I think you can buy adapters for some bulbs. Do some more research on it dude. Has anyone on the GTO boards done it? What did they use? What was the outcome?

You may be correct, I can't remember. It's been awhile since I've researched it honestly.

The inside of your housing should have a shield built into it. Just like in my old CL. The older styles like that are designed properly for the HID bulbs. It's the a/m kits that you have to watch out for.

the '01 TL came with HID's stock. the reflectors were designed specifically for HIDs.

a regular halogen headlight with reflectors will not disperse HID light the same way as a reflector made specifically for HID lights.

the same goes for halogen projectors.
