Is this a good deal on a CLS

2006 CLS500, MSRP $77,645
39 month lease, 12k year $1150+tax monthly payment.
$3500 down. However 3 payments left on current lease of $1112 and disposition fee would be paid by the dealer for a total of ~$3700.

Good,Decent, or Bad deal?

It depends, if you have a business that needs a large write off in the form of a vehicle then its no big deal either way. If you are doing it personally you are a fool, are you telling me that in 39 months with under 40k miles on the clock of a 2006 CLS500 you would sell it for $27k roughly? I don't think so, you are paying an awful lot more then the vehicle will depreciate during your ownership. It would be much better to purchase the vehicle and drive it for the same time period and sell it, you'd save yourself probably $10-15k in under 4 years, seems like a no brainer to me.

If you make more than $200,000/yr, have maxed out your 401k, have plenty of other investments under your belt, are worth more than 1 mil, own your own home with a substantial piece of land attached to it and your kids have already been through college then YES it s a great deal.

If you are in your late teens or early twenties and waiting tables on the weekends then no it's not a good deal.

If you are living on food stamps and collecting welfare then buy it and get chrome 26's on it pronto.

It doesn't cost that much to have a vehicle transported, you'd make it up in a few months.

Thanks for the advice. The car is for my father and he can afford it. I would like to get him the best deal possible since he has many other business expenses. The phone number listed on generalcar.com did not work from my cell phone and I emailed them for their regular # and have not gotten a response yet. Can anyone else try the # for me? BTW it is most likely going to be between the CLS500 and a 750i, what do you guys think? The car will be replacing a 03 S430.

Yes, "sounds" like a good deal until you read there Lease Disclosures , does not even state who your leasing the car from. Sounds like there a 3rd party broker.

Your Fathers quote sounds about right....

My friend has a 2006 CLS500 / 39 month lease/ incl tax its $1230 per month, and he shoped for quite some time.

Not soon enough Crazy, at 1st was told at the earliest May/june but there have been delays so could be towards the end of the year.

But in the mean time they gave me 2 options, Euro Delivery or go for the Performance Center Delivery at BMWs Performance Driving School SC. I took the 2nd option.

They have a 2/1.2 day program designed for M Series Cars and then once you have passed that, you can go on to there Advanced M School.

I'll start a topic on it soon enough.......
