Just watched the 11.6 video. Man that Cobra shoots out of the hole so quick! That's going to be an absolute blast to take to the track!!

Ryan is using a normal throttle cable. Mine is drive by wire so hopefully it will be less problem prone once its tuned.
Ryans' dyno is 370whp & 400ftlbs. The Coyote should be between 395 & 405whp so if it can get traction it will have good potential for quick times.
The guys on the FFR builders forum think Ryan should make 10 seconds with some tire work. These cars carry about 22psi on a normal DD. The plan for drag racing is to drop them to 18 & heat them with a solid burnout. Rayan was running 24/25psi so the tires were just to hard.
Not sure what tires he runs but mine are Nitto 555R in a 315 width. Most of us drive on Drag Radials every day.

Ryan's car is really quick...looking forward to seeing what yours does.
I did find it somewhat laughable what he titled the first video, though...seriously, is anybody surprised he destroyed a Challenger? Unless it was heavily modified, it has the same or slightly more power (RT/SRT, respectively) than his FFR Cobra, but weighs twice as much. Only one way that ends.

Ryan is an experienced driver & even if he had a slightly slower car than the Challenger he would have beaten the Dodge. For the 3 runs his reaction times were 0.10, 0.06, and 0.03 on a 0.00 clock.
I think he was just surprised at how easy it was since he made an easy pass short shifting all the way. Was the first run ever for the car.
The Cobra replicas are quick but don't do much in the way of trap speed. One of the other guys runs consistent 10's but he only traps in the low 120's. Very poor aerodynamics, something like pushing a brick through the air. Most of our cars would have a hard time breaking 150mph.
The fastest airport run for one so far is 198mph. A couple of FFR cars are being built to try for 200+. A lot of work is going into air handling ducting for cooling & engine intake.
This one was driven by Dick Smith to 198mph at Daytona. Its my understanding this car CSX 3035 was used for the molds for the FFR cars.

A bit more sheet metal work. Installed an air handling section to direct air into the radiator. Another piece will close off the top section so 100% of the air coming in through the front of the car will pass through the radiator. Will be running another one from the oil cooler opening to the cars air cleaner.
Have about 10 man hours of work before starting the engine.

Was down at Whitbys today to make some last minute arrangements on the paint & body mounting. Took a few pictures that might be of interest of some finished cars that have not been picked up yet.
Three FF5 kits.
Daytona Coupe
Roadster
33 FORD 3 Window Coupe
My Roadster in paint prep.
My Roadster should be on the road in November about 1 month later that I had originally thought. Fortunately most of the time its still Tee-Shirt weather at Christmas here.

FYI - Arthur St. Antoine has a brief article in the November 1, 2014 issue of Automobile Magazine about getting to drive around in FF's CEO's personal Cobra for a couple of weeks. Nice read.
Cliffs - He loved it.

Coming along nicely. I'd love to take on a project like this, but with a Caterham.

Starting to close out loose ends. Had to put in the console to finish the basic wiring. To put in the console had to put the trans cover on. To put the trans cover on had to install the insulation & carpet onto the sides of the tunnel.
Was told the FFR overflow tank is too small for the Coyote. Pulled it & put in a JEG'S unit (arrow) that was twice as big, should be the last I have to deal with on the cooling system, fingers crossed.
Also finished the air intake for the radiator. All the sheet metal surfaces will seal to the body. Hood hinges & hold open struts are installed. Broke a tap in a trunk lid hinge putting threads in for the lift struts. Have it in the freezer to see if I can shrink it some to drive it out.
Current target for a finished car is late November.

I don't know why but my first thoughts of seeing the body shop photos was you should leave it like that, clear it and call it a barn find lol. I must watch too many car shows on TV now-a-days.

Double post arrrh. Sorry. Bodies are new. They are done in a multi mold process so the seams need to be taken down.
Also all the filling panels hood, doors & trunk lid are molded 1/8" oversize to account for variations in the various builds. This allows the body opening seams to be made the same width all over the car.
Lot of work but the finished product is very good.

It Sounds So BAAAD
First start at 5:45 today. Really sounds bad, nice beat to the music. Still have fuel pump issues.
Pump is noisy & the pressure regulator is only showing 30PSI. Not sure what the problem is but have solid electrical connections now.
Will check with FORD Racing & maybe switch pumps to an intank unit. its pitch dark here will see if my son-in-law can do a vid on Saturday.
Going to Whitby's in the morning to make last minute arrangements to get the chassis down there.

Very very hard but its very very dark out. Will zip around the neighborhood this weekend to test the various systems out. Brakes need to be re-bled & a few heat/cold cycles to fully fill the cooling system & purge the air.
Curious to see if I can hear the radio over the exhaust.
