Yep...we bought the car new and it has been bulletproof. I will probably keep it forever. I'm not driving as much as I did when I first got it. I was up to 25,000 miles a year but now I'm at about 12,000 or so.

I had that happen once when I was driving a customers car, he wasn't upset, but he wasn't happy either that he wasn't behind the wheel when it happened, he had apparently been waiting for it to happen. It was an old fashioned style odometer and it was kind of cool to watch it roll from 099999 to 100000.

I'll try to answer questions here...

- I drove around the neighborhood until it hit 99,999 then I stopped and snapped a picture. Then I continued until it hit 100,000 and took another.
- Tranny problem has vanished. Dealer couldn't reproduce it and neither could I.
- If you're thinking about getting a Hyundai, you won't regret it. Trust me.

Congrats on the 100K. It's nice to someone who can hold on to a car and crank on the miles with out getting 1) bored with the car or 2) afraid that something will go wrong.

Whats the target? I like to shoot for a quarter million miles.

Thanks. I still love the car very much. I was on vacation across the country and began missing it on the second day.

I'm aiming for 300,000 but I'm sure it'll probably need a camshaft before then. By 150K it will become a second car if all goes right. I'm looking to add either a new Santa Fe or a Genesis V8 to the stable. These cars are little tanks; there's a guy on the Santa Fe forum who has a 2002 model of mine with probably 190K by now and no problems.

Why would it need a camshaft?

They do have a tendency to wear out although that's no guarantee. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
