Why not? They are both V8 powered Sports car's with similar performance. The only difference is the considerable price gap.

Price per HP there is no question the Z06, even though less power, for $30k more I'd take a Ferrari F430 over the GT any day!

 

Power-wise...one could argue...similar.
...but they are two different breads of car.

 

the gt is way overpriced, i mean common its a fuckin FORD. once the new stingray comes out the gt probably wont even have a market.

 

They would merge before that happend.

The GT is a far nicer car.

I love the GT. A modern interpretation of a very historic and influential car. It's too bad production has ended, with the final fourty cars painted red/white stripes and destined for Canada.

That could be interesting but I imagine mighty Toyota would buy them up instead.As far as the original question goes I think the GT from Ford is a great car but the fact that it is another retro mobile and out of production kind of puts a dimmer on it for me, the Corvette is Americas star spangled sports car and has remained so for 50 years plus. That has got to count for something.

A merger might be more attractive after bankruptcy. The bankruptcy court would wipe a lot of debt off the books, shareholders would get squat, and the bankrupt company would be free to renegotiate its labor contracts without having to pay onerous severance benefits. A good example would be the merger of Sears with a bankrupt KMart.

 

Actually if you had 1/2 a clue of what you were talking about you'd know he had Ford install a 3rd party alarm in his GT. It was the alarm that was causing all of his issues.





They tried to fix it multiple times, but they couldn't get it to play nice with the car. It really has nothing to do with Fords build quality.

Read your articles a bit closer next time... or read ones that actually tell the truth instead of being drama queens like Jeremy loves to do... ever hear him make fun of the C6 for it's "leaf spring suspension"? The C6 doesn't have a conventional leaf spring suspension. He just likes to make it sound like it does, granted it has a "leaf spring" it doesn't work anything like a conventional leaf spring setup does. But lots of sheep will listen and think it does...

 

You totally left out that the C6 in the video is modified... this video is about worthless as a stock vs. stock comparison. A modified GT would hand that C6 it's ass on a silver platter.

So the title of your thread is misleading... it should me "modified GM C6 Z06 vs stock Ford GT"

 

I have a clip of the Ford GT modified going against a zo6, the results is still the same...

just have to find that clip

 

Sorry, I have seen clips of Z06 getting it's ass handed to it by a MOD'd GT.

Just a pulley swap puts the GT in the 800+ HP territory. Z06 requires a lot more work than that. What "MODS" did the GT have?

What are you trying to prove? that you can find movies of the Z06 winning races on the streets? I can find movies of the Z06 getting it's ass handed to it. It proves nothing...

Stock vs. Stock the Z06 loses... it's just that simple. Comparing modified cars is retarded as whoever has more $$ in mod's and better tuning wins. This thread is meaningless, especially since you left out the fact that the Z06 is modified and the GT isn't.

The zo6 has bolt-ons and nothing more... with a lingenfelter supercharger the zo6 can be monsterous while the GT already has a blower.

No, not personal. You just think it is, as it was obviouslly your your intention to stir things up when you posted it not mentioning the Z06 was modified originally.

I'm not a Ford fan, but when I post things I don't leave out things... especially when making a comparison. And I see you *knew* it was modified which makes it that much worse. Intentional misdirection... good you fixed it on post #8.

It's the intention and content of your post that bothers me, not GM vs Ford... or who you think I am a fan boy of.

I'm sick of reading misdirected posts by people who are obviously infected with Americas love of false advertising and or misdirection.

A prime example of someone lead by misdirection is the guy above who posted about Jeremy Clarkson's GT. He either really didn't know about the 3rd party alarm that casued all of the issues or he was completely misdirected by the journalist as intended with his over dramatic article about his GT.
