GM gives EVERYONE employee discount?

I've been torn between replacing the '00 TL with a GTO or a Mustang (in addition to considering the new TL and G35 if I get a sedan or need more luxury), but 400hp is hard to resist at the employee price.

Through July 5, GM is extending the employee discount to the public on everything except Corvette and midsize trucks.

I'll have to see where that leaves the GTO's overinflated list price. IMO, the car should be priced starting aroung 26K, rather than 33K. On the '04 GTO at year end they were discounting $6500. Pretty tempting, but the Mustang seems to draw me back in when comparing the two.

Any input?

Coupe options: GTO or Mustang, posssssibly used G35C
Sedan options: 04/05 TL or 04/05 G35, possssibly Charger or 300C

This is a two-pronged thread, I guess: lettin' everyone know about the fire sale on GM stuff due to lagging sales, and gettin' input on what to replace my '00TL (109K miles) with. Used to own a showroom new '97 Camaro Z28, which is why I'm hankering to get back to RWD for this Texas weather.

Coupe: GTO. I like the new Mustang but saw 10 of them today in 20 minutes.
Sedan: TL. Couldnt go wrong with either but I like the TL interior much better than the G35.

the discount sucks. you have to pay tax on the discount amount at the end of the year. you can get a better deal by just haggling.
