Gift ideas for service manager?

I've had my acura serviced at the same dealership for about 3 years now and the service manager has really impressed me.

I have to go in for some warranty work soon.. and i'd love to get him something as a thank you.

Any ideas?

Cash, booze, subscription to Playboy? That should cover 90% of the service managers out there.

I take my service manager at Porsche sushi for him and his office crew. They are always very nice and accomodating.

Is straight up cash inappropriate?

Booze is a good idea, but it would suck if he doesn't drink lol.

Gift cards not a bad idea but i'd rather give cash than a gift card.

@ surfer rick

you bring the food to them, or you take them all out for sushi?

Yeah don't give cash, that's small kine tacky.

I gave booze to my patient who loaned me his waste dumpster when I was renovating my home. Turns out he's Mormon and doesn't drink.

TDK, I take sushi down to the dealership. If they can take care of my 911 by lunch time after I drop it off in the morning, their efficiency deserves props. It's the gesture they will appreciate, not so much the monetary value.

Nice gesture.

Perhaps a nice, moderately priced writing instrument of some sort.

This has got to be a joke. However, I am jealous of your air freshner.

my reservations about food is, what if they don't like it? also, i'm a little paranoid / anxious about eating food that a stranger brought from the outside... especially something like sushi.

dont get me wrong, food was one of my first ideas too, but i dunno... seems too many cons than pros

Gift card FTW.

I'd fill out a 'thank you' card, explaining your appreciation of his service, then contact the service manager (his boss) and have him present the gift card to him.

This way you give him two kudos - from you and recognition from his boss.

Gift card would be the best way to go.

Cash would be inappropriate, he'd probably think you're trying to get something from him.

Buy him a round of golf, even if he sucks he'll still enjoy it lol. Plus it's a Porche dealer, aren't they required to play golf or something?

Cheap but also thoughtful, my brother burns custom DVD's and CD's as a token of appreciation for techs and service managers who work on his Porsches. Either WAV or MP3.

Not always a good idea-The service manager where I go is a recovering alcholic-has been sober for 15 years now. I found out some of interests. I also made homemade cookies for him, advisors and techs. They loved them.

In the words of Trent:
"I'll have a scotch on the rocks, please. Any scotch will do, as long as it's not a blend, of course. single malt, Glen Livet, Glen Galley, perhaps, any glen."

everyone has their own taste but as someone who sells liquor ill say that goose is definitely popular and not at all a bad choice, kettle ones not too shabby either. And ciroc is selling really well lately

D:

i understand some people are sobering alcoholics but i always found liquor to be a good gift, if u are still unsure try to get to know some of their hobbies before you decide on a gift, ive given fine cigars as gifts before too and they were very well received

I'm surprised you don't get your Veyron service manager handjobs by models in a penthouse in Thailand.

i know a million service managers.

The best thing you can give to any one in auto industry is liquor. Not kidding. Get a small gift set.

straight up cash is not a good idea. Some might take it as insulting and it can get them in trouble. you're better off asking him if he drinks or not. nothing wrong with asking him first.

I guess I'm lucky I don't know my Mazda or Acura service managers. Of course many years ago I saw my Ford service advisor so much I almost invited her to our wedding
