I've only had my tires balanced once since I've owned the car, and I had the dealer do it since I was there for service anyway. They charged either $20 or $25 a tire...I can't remember. It wasn't too terribly bad. That was when I lived in Oakland...took it to Oakland Acura.

It looks like I'm going to be ordering a set of rims when I get new tires...so good ol' tirerack.com will mount & balance them for free. lol.

That's way too much. I think $10-15 a piece is what I paid the last time I had mine done.

I've heard the NTB will discount mounting/balancing tires if purchased from tirerack. Something about authorized installer or something.

You could also try walmart. gulp.

Its free because you either bought the tires from them or are a customer... They charge otherwise...

Just go to a Rim place and they'll usually just charge you labor... or less...

Wheel Works
1499 Franklin St
San Francisco, CA 94109

$13.99 per tire...

my acura dealer used to do mine for 45 bucks for all 4, haven't found a better price than that, and they never marked up the wheel.

I have to do this as well. My grandma's car needed tires. There's a place here tire kingdom. They are $18.99/tire. Plus the alignment I'm looking at around $150.

Go to tirerack and look up their recommended installers in your area. Other wise call around. I have lick with my local sears. They usually charge 65 for mounting and balancing (4 tires)and tire disposal. there is a guy at mine that does good work and is good to the rims.

Got mine done at the honda dealer for $15 a tire. A local mechanic who works at the acura dealer does it for $10 per tire at his personal shop. It shouldn't be much more than that.

americas tire is such a rip off place. I called about 4 months ago and i got a quote for my tires and they wanted about 50 bucks more than what tirerack.com would chargred shipped. Then about a week ago i called again to see how much they were again and they all of a sudden want $1150 for my re01r vs. $800 for what i paid at tirerack.com And to top that off another $15 bucks per tire to mount and balance.

i called another location and they want $1150 for the tires too but they want $25 per tire to mount and balance.
Jesus why are the prices different from one location to the next and why is it when ever i call back again later the prices always change. not cool.

i just went to big o tire and got them on for $80 bucks. took 20 mins.

I've called up about 8 shops for mounting and balancing 18inchers, they want anywhere from 25-35 per wheel. i got lucky and found a shop i bought wheels at previously and they said $60 for all 4.

Geez, you mean they didn't even fill the tires?

Find a local shop. It should cost you around $15 a tire for mount and balance - plus another few dollars each for disposal.

As for tire prices being different at different shops - it depends on who their suppliers are. My local shop has a supplier for Toyos, so they came out about $25/tire cheaper than at any of several other places I called.
