Getting rid of my CL-S, G35 Coupe or STi?!?
Finally getting rid of my CL-S, planning on either getting an Infiniti G35 Coupe or an 04' STi. This is a tough decision for me, what do you guys think I should go with?
Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it.

i would get the STI.
the g35 is nice but there's just something about the STI that makes me want one.

i'd prefer an Evo
but....in your circumstance....i'd probably go w/ an STI just for the fucking fact that its an "STI". Both the STI and Evo are legends in their own time...you won't regret your purchase
For reals tho....you're comparing apples to oranges...2 completely different cars. One gives you the pimp status with luxury and style, while the other gives you amazing performance, handling, and seats 5 Not to mention that its a legend, hehe. Go for whatever fits your personal need, AND desire!

also depends on if you want luxury or speed....you can get a lot of speed from the STi...but not with the comfort and luxury of the g35(also has some speed to)....your choice
luxury and cruising....
speed and racing....wouldnt wanna have the STi as an every day driver if you have a lead foot...youll go through gas like crazy

My opinion of the G35 has changed.
I would never get a G35...Evertime I see them (ALOT IN MY AREA) some old broad is driving one. I would get teh Subi!

apples and oranges
2 door luxury sports coup vs 4 door sports car.
I hate you for having to make such a tough choice
I have been wanting an sti lately. You have no need for AWD though. I say go G35. It just looks too good to pass up and has plenty of balls.

still a Masshole
damn tough call as both are awesome. If you have another car get the STi. I'll tell you what, I say tons more G coupes (although they never get old) than I do STis....as a matter of fact I think I've seen less than 10 my whole life in person yet I've seen 10 Gs in a week.

Find beauty in dissonance
Go test drive both, you'll know instantly.
G35C, should be easy to find a test drive.
STI may be difficult. Some dealers may not allow you to take out an STI. Post on some forums, find a local owner, get a real test drive/ride in a car that is broken in.

I'd stay away from the EVO. It is a great car, Mitsubishi is an awful company.

Most young people would opt for the Subie (or evo), but I think the G35 appeals to an older crowd (especially the sedan).
There aren't that many cars out today that would work for me as a daily summer/winter driver.
The G35c and the Subie are probably the 2 cars I would look at today if I was buying (with the BMW 330 making the list). All can be had with AWD, and the pricing is similar. The g35 looks to be a bigger car, with the subie being more "rally inspired".
Drive both and see what one you like better.
I'm sticking w/ the CLS for awhile, as there isn't another vehicle on the market that fits my compromised expectations for sport/luxury/style/speed and value in a coupe form.

CLS 6MT Navi
I could never give up my CL (6 speed) for those cars. I assume you have an automatic CL, 01??
The G35 coupe is not bad, but I still prefer the CL 6 speed to the G35. The CL is more refined, more quality, much better interior.
The only car that has tempted me in the past is the BMW 5speed 330 coupes, but they are overpriced, less comfortable, less features, less power. Shifter in the CL is the best.
Of your choices I'd go G35, but again, I'd only buy a 6 speed.

couldn't be put any better... cl-s 6 dominates as soon as you use that little word value...

With the CLS having a shitty resale, a used CLS 6spd may be an even better bang for the buck now (prices in the low 20's).

Just my $.02 but, if I want all out speed for $35G (new) I'd go for the SVT Cobra. Unless the asphalt is wet, the STi cant touch it. But, if I'm willing to sacrifice some performance for some luxury I'd get the G35C 6MT. (1/2 step up from the CL-S at best)
The STi (not to mention base WRX and Evo) is a car that you'll more than likely grow out of in short order. It's good at going straight and fast but, nothing else. And I def wouldnt trade the CLS for one.
To be honest trading up from a CLS to an 04 TL 6MT makes much more sense. Again just my $.02.
Peace.

I would go with the G myself. Unless you have several cars and want one just for sport, then the STI becomes an option. But if you want one car that is sporty, yet classy, I would stick with the G35C.

that sounds oddly low... kbb for a car like that is 28-29, unless you have the world's only non-stuck up bmw dealer???

I had less quality issues with my 94 Ford thunderbird in 136K vs 20K miles on my CLS I had the belt tensioner fail on the Tbird at 58K miles (covered under warrenty). Interesting that I've also hae the tensioner replaceD on the CLS too (under the recall before it failed). Acura won't score many points on quality with me. Value, yes. Quality, no.
edit:
I've got a real problem with Acuras perceived vs. actual quality. I don't think they are built as well as people think they are.
Oh, and the G35 is built in Japan and not in the USA like a Ford or Acura.
