Yet more useless technology from the Germans, who still haven't figured out the simple problems like how to design an engine that doesn't burn oil or window motors that don't fail.

They still haven't even really done it.

This could lead to new shimmering car finishes which can change with temperature or humidity
I think it would look pretty rice on most cars.

The hood would be a different color than the car, suckers.

<----still waiting for the window tint that gets darker w/ heat
http://www.sciencenews.org/articles/20040821/fob7.asp

or what i really want, is one that is usually dark but will get lighter w/ the addition of an electric voltage, so i can make it lighter whenever i want to , maybe i'll put that on my long list of things to invent.

They already have glass that does that. Its expensive, but its out there. The glass roof of the Maybach actually uses the stuff.

Did you read the article? It can also apply to optical data processing. Not useless and having more than one application=smart.

And those two statements are totally retarded.

sooo pointless

so your hood would be a diff color than your bumper or your roof. every thing is exposed to diffent heat while driving so it would look like a rainbow car like how some ppl with vws paint each body panel a different color.

what would really be cool if you guys watched real world austin how the windows in the toilet stalls glass over. i know there is a tinted version of that. so your car windows could have adjusting wintow tint. could make it black or light. cops would be saying wtf all the time

Didn't Lincoln have something similar about 10 years ago? Their paint changed color depending on the angle of incidence of the light waves reflected off its surface.

The flip lid Ferrari also has similar glass.
