Are G35 owners starting to develop BMW attitudes?

Just curious what it's like around where you all live... but here in Chicago.. there are G's a dime a dozen, and I'm more and more frequently encountering some of the bozo owners on the street who wanna go everytime. Just t'nite I was driving down into the city and that ugly ass blue G35 sedan felt the urge to egg me on and zipp thru moderate traffic at like 90 mph ..

just venting here more than anything .. why can at least the Jap. car marques get along???

no, I wish they'd urge me more... I've never run into one that revs up on me or anything.

typically when you're jealous of someone you often become resentful of them.

Most G35s I see around here are driven pretty mildly. Even the coupes....

I've gotten a few sedans to race and that is where I gained mad respect for them. NEver gotten a coupe to jump, but most here are driven by women from what I have seen.

All boards have idiots but i noticed the VQ power (3.5) and Nissan marketing are powerful. Ever read the Nissan board Freshalloy. Most of those guys don't have a clue.

I have talked to owners of other manufacturs who have browsed this site and some of them have the same opinions of us. "Why does he think his CL is so nice, its just a glorified accord". Every car group thinks their car is better than the next guy, for the most part.

Accord is a fantastic car. Is that supposed to some sort of insult?

i try to egg people on where it appears to b a good matchup (bimmers, G's, benz's, Lexus, etc.), but for the most part, noone wants to play...on the other hand, all the guido's in their slammed/riced out Tegs, older Accords, Max's, and even old Toyota's all wanna race me...maybe it's just a Long Island thing

No. maybe it's a Northeast thang

I get all the smucks trying to get me to race, but I won't waste my time. Some chick in a early 90's Chrysler 'vert tried to egg me on, but I don't buy into that crap. Why even waste my time ??

Now if only I could line up at my favorite stoplight against some decent competition

I did some thinking about the G35C and while I like the car alot, it seems to me that ALOT of them here in NJ are driven by guidos; and seeing as the E36 328Ci/330Ci/M3 were the guido cars of the 90s, I share your observation TL_Type_S about the G35C owners having a BMW attitude.

Peace.

Well since you're the model, you drive an Acura and you're pretty arrogant/snotty, :P

maybe it's just a car and every owner is unique. The only stereotype that you could reliably say about g35 owners is that they all paid roughly 30-37k for a sport coupe. So maybe all people who buy 30-37k dollar sport coupes are snotty. Since BMW falls into this category, it makes sense you would say these people are acting like BMW owners.

one question though; :whocares:

can you just imagine how the guy driving a CL 600 that cost upward $120K...he can buy just about 3 G35 coupes fully loaded. Why do you think those guys dont speed??? They dont have to...they already get all the attention and know their car can obliterate the G any day

Maybe it's about them being "too" proud they are able to afford that type of car.

Like they've finally made it to some plateau in their life...

It's not everyone who can afford a $35K car & still eat, etc.

I have tried to "pick" fights nicely and they don't bite. That is with the G35s, I hardly ever see a G35c, maybe 1 a day and it always seems to be going the other way!

I have not doubt that the G35 is a nice machine, as good or better than my CL. IF they want to race then they must feel the same way that I do about their car....stretch it's legs and play hard. If they don't then it was a trade in for something else and they didn't realize they had a real nice car. Or they just don't realize the "hot" under their foot.
