I still don't like how Nissan is just replicating its cars for the two lines. The g35 4 door looks almost identical to the altima fom the side and the coupe is damn near exactly the same as the 350Z. At least Honda attempted to make our cars different from the Accord.

yea more hp stock than the CL-S but when you add up options I think you will notice it costs more than a CL-S, check out similar options on the G35 sedan and compare to a TL-S. Oh, also they will offer 18" wheels as an option.
the interior is kinda cheap looking but the exterior is nice, also they will offer telematics and XM digital music:
In a transcript from the NY Infiniti introduction of the G35 coupe , Jack Collins, Vice President of product planning, made the following announcement:
-----------------------------------------------
"There's one other quick "product announcement" I'd like to make before turning the stage back to Mark. Along with these two new models for 2003, we're also pleased to offer our owners state-of-the-art "Infiniti Communicator" Telematics system, offered as standard on every 2003 Q45, M45 and G35 Sedan and Coupe.
The Infiniti Communicator, connected with Wingcast, features flexible technology that can be adapted to the owners' personal preferences and enables safety and security services -- including a portable, hands-free voice-activated phone and information portal.
For 2003, we're also pleased to be partnering with XM and Sirius in offering 100 channels of digital quality music and information through satellite radio systems -- available this fall on Q45, M45, G35 Sedan and Coupe and I35 models."

YES! The G35 sedan & coupe as well as the 350Z all use
essentially the same (all new) RWD chassis & 3.5L V-6.
The G35 coupe is basicly a 2+2 350Z.

TRAITORS! I will keep my CL-S and continue to drive it with my chin up, Even with all the little problems. That coupe is pretty nice, specs and all, but the interior is ugh. How much is that thing anyway? Damn, I hope they discontinue the cl after this generation is done, I would hate to drive a last generation car around since I plan on keeping this car for a while.

I've sat in the G35, it's interior is not all that bad, much better than the IS300, now that is a piece of shit.

G35 coupe is awesome.......RWD, 275hp, 6spd, opitional 18's, Brembos, Aerokit. Not to mention in person, the car looks absolutely incredible. The CL's styling doesn't hold a candle to the G35 coupe IMO.
We'll see about the interior when it comes out.

I think the bottom line is that most of the newest cars/trucks coming up in these couple of years are murdering the market for people that bought a new car/truck in the past years. The look, styles, performance are changing so much now that it suck to see my CL loose "moderness".
But Thank God for mods.

Keep it “fresh” with tweaks once and a while and you can stay relatively happy.
How long can you have a “top of the line” PC anymore? Same thing.

My CL is getting old, but I still love it. Interior is pretty damn important, you see it much more than the outside! The G35 looks great, the back could use a little tweaking, but overall the outside does look more aggressive and stylish than the CL. I think the CL rear still looks better tho (esp. with spoiler), I have to get used to the G35 rear...but I really don't like the CL front, the G35 looks better there for me.
Still, I'm definitely looking to test drive the G35 when it does come out...hard to beat more horsepower, RWD and 52/48 distribution.

I love how the G35 coupe looks on the outside but i hate the interior. and of course the deprecation of an Infinity is really bad I would have to get a great deal to buy one.

I test drove the 4dr G35 a few weeks back...
a) I love the rwd.
b) Good brakes.
c) Ugly ass end.
d) Crappy sport shift, but it does down shift into 1st gear.
e) Overall feeling of the interior "feel" sucks.
Someone posted that it looks too much like the Altima because its' based off the Altima platform (I think?).
Its a nice vehicle, but no where near my TLS!!!

I like the exterior styling. I would much rather be mistaken for a Z rather than an Accord or Solara.
And a body kit for a $30k coupe, what a concept!!! (hint hint Acura)
I also like the interior, plastic is plastic, but I like the pop-up screen and it also doesn't look like an accord or odyssey.

We haven't seen any other colours except silver, no?
When we see the others perhaps the car will look better or worse (from behind).
In any case, I will probably wait until the next G35 coupe comes out, after the first ones are introduced. Where is the forum where they are discussing this car?

I cant wait till the new TL/CL comes out. Then everyone will have confidence in Honda again and drool over all the power its new line up of cars will have. Honda has seen what these companies will be offereing for the next few years and now it knows what it has to do to counter it. 300plus horses in a type s doesnt sound to odd now does it.

THAT REAR end is BUTT UGLY. I saw the new g35 on the street. The interior isn't bad, but for the money, AND STYLING(Exterior and Interior), CL-S is tops!

Don't know if 275 hp is the "real" figure. They were saying something like 280 in the beginning, but the dealer told me that's what they were saying about the sedan until it was finally delivered at 260hp.
I don't understand the "build your own" on the Infiniti site: I select "winter package" and it automatically deselects "sports package" and adds navigation in addition to winter. Whatever. If you go to the dealer, you'll find that the sedan is about $36k and change when configured in the ballpark of a TL/CL-S. I'm not saying that's a terrible price, just that the cars aren't the same price if you want the goods.
The G35 sedan (I'd want the coupe, of course) has good points and no so good, but in the end I decided to get my 6-speed now instead of waiting. The G35 interior is a bit on the cheesey side in person. The engine seemed real nice, but I didn't like the steering feel (it surprised me how hard it cut into the turn with a small steering move; I later read a car&driver review that complained about the same thing. Maybe you get used to it, but I didn't feel strongly enough about the car to come back for a drive through the hills).
Not trying to ding it--I suspect it will be a nice car and a good choice for a lot of people. Infiniti has a lot to prove, so they need a winner. Sales have been poor pretty much for the life of the brand and resale is a problem.
