G35 coupe 6MT or IS350?
I am planning on getting a new car next year, and I am heavily towards the G35 coupe 6MT coz it's easily afforadable compare with BMW and Audi
and now i just saw the new IS350 and it's mouth watering
i bet both cars are going at the same price, so which one would you pick?
or if you can name a better car in this price range let me know, i will take a serious look at it

^^ I agree that the G35c is played out but give the IS a few years and it would be played out as well. See the thing with the IS is that everyone would be buying it, old people would be buying it cause its a Lexus and young people would be buying it coz of its looks, where as the G has its own class of people that it attracts. I do like the new IS dont get me wrong but untill unless they come out with a two door 6 speed I wont buy it. For now i guess the G will do, then again my predictions could be wrong.

the IS won't be out until this fall, but i guess it's not any cheaper than the G35c
i was thinking the A3 but it's too pricy, and without Quattro it doesn't impressed me with such price tag

The only IS to be offered with a manual will be the RWD 250. The AWD 250 and 350 are AT's only.

Those things are holding their value pretty good. I know once the leased Gz are turned in the market price of used ones will go down, but how much will they go down no one knows, i mean how bad can it be? A couple of grand? May be. But i dont think they will go down any further than that. You will have alot to choose from then but nothing more than that.

c'mon now at least i gave a different choise than I350 or G35c. Screw Infinity, get a Lexus, sorry you guys that like Infinity, they make very good vehicles, but a Lexus is better overall than any Infinity out there. Reliability is number one and resale, vehicle intergrity and prestige. Lexus is a name everyone in the friggin world know next to BMW and Mercedes its Lexus not Infinity. Lexus has legendary reliability for even there V8's. Get the Lexus, but the G35c like I said is a very nice car. I just don't like Infinity as much as Acura or Lexus. Hey get a friggin 05 TL 6speed and a few mods, will blow the doors off a G35c!

not crap just fact, and I am a little drunk right now, so my spelling may be off, but my point isn't. Lexus makes a better product than Inifinti! The I350 will outperform the G35 AT no problem. The G35c MT will be close, but if a Lexus is close to performance with an Infiniti I will take the Lexus(better looks, more reliable, same resale, better interior, more prestige). Where is your argument DownUnder or do you just make fun of people to hide the fact you don't know what your talking about.

BTW, here’s some facts about reliability about Lexus and Infiniti: http://www.cbsnews.com/htdocs/pdf/consumerreports.pdf
There both the best when it comes to reliability period.

By the way, I think he's trying to say that Lexus quality is better than Infiniti. Step into a GS430 and then an M45 you can see a difference. Both are great cars, but the GS has more "quality/luxury" on the inside than the M does.

if i getting the new TL i would glady keep my 02 TL coz it looks better IMO
and the reason i love G35 coupe coz of its killer look and aggressive style, not overdone like EVO and STi that will get bugged by cops very often, with a touch of elegant and have 300hp on hand, the G35 sedan looks awful, and my TL looks better, but the coupe is catching my eye
Lexus IS350 will be great with 6spd auto and 310hp, but i doubt it will be cheaper than a fully loaded G35, price plays a huge role as well, i cannot afford anything more than that coz i still have insurance and stuff

A true Hondaphile would probably extoll the virtues of boosting a TSX over getting the IS350.

Having G35 as my daily driver I extremely satisfied since '04. To me it's the best daily driven vehicle under $40K. Plenty of torque and aftermarket is great if plan to mod it. Every car can get old or boring, so far it is not. G35c 6MT is the choice
Note: not my vehicle.

The TSX is, um, a better value! And it's related to the Accord.
(Because it is one.)
You can't hate on the Accord!!! /banhammer
Now, if you have the $36K (USD), a loaded G-coupe is not comparable to
an A4, 3-Series, IS, or TSX. It's bettar. (Did I mention it's a sexy coupe?)
There's a considerable number of G-coupes where I am in Northeast Ohio.
If there are this many around here, then New Jersey and SoCal must be sinking under their weight. But anytime I see a G-coupe, I think, yeah, that's the car.

I'm betting the IS350 will be offered with a MT in its second production year. The IS300 was AT only at introduction. Don't forget the IS460(!) is in the works as well.
The IS350 won't be cheap either. I'm thinking near $40k with decent options. Lexus doesn't need to undercut BMW on price anymore; they are already more luxurious, more reliable, and have the same prestige.

More reliable = Definitely
Same prestige = Not even close

Lexus is still way below Mercedes and BMW when it comes to the prestige factor.

That would have me looking at a TSX. Value is all about getting the qualities you prefer in a car at the lowest possible price.
