G35 Coupe 2005 vs TL (6m+nav) 2005 vs A4 quattro 2006 - Better Buy?

Well I'm thinking of buying either the g35, tl or a4. Which would be the better buy and why. Thanks!

G35 = best looking, best performance (RWD)
TL = best interior, most space, lots of features
A4 = used German car. Run away!!!

No A4! You won't be satisfied with the power (or lack of).

^ While the quattro is a bit slower then the FWD A4, both have sufficient power and would match up against either of the other two. If you were talking about the 1.8T it would be a different story. But the 2.0T and the V6 in the B7 A4 are both great engines.

As for the OP.... test drive them all and go from there. In this market you should be able to find great deals on any of them.

Oh and feel free to take advantage of our search as well as all of those cars have been covered extensively.

Welcome

Why are so many college-age people taking on debt like this?

I mean, unless they're working and not going to school of course.

^^ I'm just drawing from my own experience... I've driven the Quattro and wasn't impressed.

^ Well when I was 20 I spent $25k on a car... so I'm not one to really talk. Then again I was working full-time making pretty good money plus going to school full-time, so it may have been a different situation.

But I do agree that it seems to be odd that a lot of people in the OP's age bracket seem to be putting themselves into debt for a car. Not sure of the OP's situation, but others have spent way more then necessary IMO...

Must be b/c the A4 is so refined . The manual 3.2L A4 is only .2 tenths of a second slower then the TL manual 0-60... so performance is almost identical.

These cars aren't excessively expensive... especially used.

I paid cash for my TL and I'm not much older than the OP.

Parents / family also come into play more and more these days

A 2006 A4 has to still be in the $19k range doesn't it?

All the best to the OP if that's the way he wants to go

G35 Coupe will be the best performer, hands-down. It's the only proper FR setup here, and there are a plethora of Nismo / Z go-fast goodies available. The Audi motors with the Turbos can also be pretty simply modded, but reliability will be anyone's guess.

Looks are subjective, but the overall consensus is that the G has the weakest interior in the class.

It really depends on you, test them all, see what you think.

Thank you for the input everyone, please keep them coming. I do live in Montreal, so snow would play a factor. I am told by many people that RWD (G35) would be a little more difficult to drive in the winter.

As for charliemike, I do make a pretty good amount of money, and I will be buying either of these cars used, therefore wouldn't be that expensive.

Just get a separate rim/tire set for winter with winter tires and you'll be golden...

2005 G35's have the refreshed interior, right? if so, i'd go with the G. otherwise, TL.
