In the November Issue of Automobile the G35 coupe 6 speed beats the BMW 330ci manual in nearly every category. Acceleration are about the same Bmw is faster to 60 mph by .01 and the G35 is faster to 100 mph by .03. I quote " the Infinti is an absolute blast, and if offers more visceral and aggressive driving experience than the BMW. Overall, the 330 is more practical and still a great car, but the G35 is fresh and hot; it grabs you by the seat of the pants and begs you to drive the hell out of it." They even said the steering is better than the BmW, did I just hear that, better than BMW.WOW. All of this and about $33k, I think I found my next car anybody interested in buying a 2002 CL-S.

I'm tempted but i think i'll have to go with rims as my first mod......which will have to wait until the spring as i want to mount them with a summer performance tire. I want to get some track and dyno days in before i do any mods so i have a baseline to work with Yep, i'll be at englishtown....as far as beating people we'll see...i just hope i don't embarrass myself.

Here is a question, and do not take this as a knock against Nissan/Infinity, they are doing some great work lately. But how long will it take them to start raising prices??

Granted this drivetrain is shared between different platforms but costs will cause them to start increasing prices, it is natural in this market. Unless there is some major cost cutting going on unseen, the margin may be minimal. But with an initial flood into the market, decent price increase might be accepted. This is not an unusual marketing strategy and might be applicable here.

But regardless of the direction or intent, Nissan/Infinity has done some excellent planning and development in the last couple of years.

I just wonder how long these renditions will last???

I just test drove the G35.. too much cheap plastic for my liking.. The pics of the coupe do look nice, much better than the 350Z

 

Hmmm, well I am not gonna say Automobile is that great of an automotive source, but they are entitled to their opinion.
The fact remains, you get into the BMW, you feel quliaty, you get into the Infinity, you feel Nissan. 'Nuff Said.

Seriously though, what a damn bummer the G35C is so damn good! I just bought my 6 speed CLS. I STILL like our interior better, and ours is closer to a four seater than a 2+2. This coupe will kick CLS as through a mountain road though.....oh well. I still love my CLS.

 

I like the dash layout of our CL-S better than G35. G35 is to squarish, where ours flows round and smoother! Asthectically much better to my taste. The price of G35 is enticing along with the fab performance! Still love my CL-S!

 

I love my CL-S also and I really believe that if Acura ever decides in making a RWD CL-S it would blow the doors out of the competition. The RWD setup is really the only thing that is persuading me to switch for the G35 its due to be released in November we'll see.

 

i hate that faggoty lighting on the g35, looks very very cheap...plus the trim doesn't look like itwill last 50,000 miles...but the outside of the car is smoking

 

Yeah, the outside is great, inside is 1989 Sentra. For 32k though, I think many will overlook this. If a TT kit comes out for the 3.5 we are all in serious trouble...
