I seen the latest times on that car. 1/4 mile was in 14.2 seconds. A friend of mine in the G35Driver website has installed a cat back ehaust system with a CAI he is running 13.7 so I think the car is faster than our CL-S 6Speed.

is your VQ engine kindda....... *ahem*....."winded" at those "lofty" heights?

I'm sorry but that orange light display has to appeal to the :ghey: crowd! :P
I think the G35c Auto would be a good match for a stock CLS Auto, same with the 6-speeds, although it looked slow in this video.
From my experience, the VQ engine does not have problems getting "winded", at least in my car (350z). Pulls strongly at any RPM.
It feels quite a bit stronger than my CLS with Headers/Intake, and I was able to run a 9.3 in the 1/8th with my CL (approx. 14.4 1/4 time).
The VQ does sounds sweet in both the Z and G35c though

guys the g35 is quick. my cousin has one, im getting my cls in 2 1/2 weeks after it breaks in we will race and i will let u all know what happens. where both autos so its fair but the g35 hooks right away and pulls hard and the cls has mad tire spin so i dont know but we will see

did u get the 14.4 stock and u said the g35 cpe still felt quicker even with your headers and intake and if the time wasnt stock what did u hit stock 1/4
I currently own a 350Z which feels quicker than my CLS.
The G35c should be about a little slower than the Z, that's why I think it would be a close race with a CLS.
dude... i know G35C 6M is fast... faster than my car fo sho..
but G35C Auto is just slow...from the way he/she drives... i could smoke him at least 2 car length up to 80...:thumbsdn: And i still think Honda/Acura has the best Navi... the pic res in that G35C SUCKS!
but love the exhausts sound and those Taillight at night....

butt-dynoJET...........
I am taking it to E-Town as soon as it gets nicer outside (we got another 8 inches of snow up here in Danbury yesterday)
the only reason the car looks winded in those videos is because we are used to seeing the tach accelerate when VTEC hits. In the VQ series (at least what the dealer told me) the variable valve timing is continuous throughout the RPM band. So no sudden jump in RPMs.
I drove a 6speed G35 C about two months ago and it was definitely much faster than my CL-S Auto. No comparison there. I've never laid hands on a 6sp CL-S, so I can't do a fare comparison. I did notice the acceleration was much more linear than most Hondas I've owned, even in my non-VTEC Integra LS. Reminded me of a BMW actually.
The navi on the Infiniti's/Nissans suck ass. The dealer allowed me some road side time to play w/ it. The processing speed is very slow (reminded me of a Pentinum II) and the joystick is closer to the passenger side which made an awkward reach, especially while trying to keep my eyes on the road. From what I understand they did this because in Japan the driver sits on that side, and Nissan was too cheap to mod it for the USDM version.
Overall exterior aesthetics of the G35C is much nicer than the CL. The interior of the G35C seems cheaper and not as sturdy. I definitely like our seats much more.

One thing I do hate about it though is the fact that due to some new laws, the system prevents you from setting a new route while you are driving. I remember you could do this without a problem on my buddy's tl. Also, every time you turn thew car off/on, the navi prompts you to agree to some legal bullshit. Pretty annoying; may have to do with those new navi laws.
Oh and the best thing about it is the voice of the NAVI chick sounds WAY sexier than the CL/TL navi chick LOL. She gives me a woody. :wackit:

Ugly interior or not. They are RWD and alot funner to push through the turns than a CLS. The 6 speed is a ton of fun and would mos def give a cls a go.

7.5-8.5 seconds???!!! You better do some research on the G35. There is NO way the auto G35 does anything over 6.5 seconds 0-60. Even with a really bad driver. If you timed it on the vid, and it was 8 seconds, then it wasn't at WOT. Period.

While I agree that it is a bit slow when calculating routes, and it's not the best OEM navi available, to say it sucks ass is pretty harsh.

It does have many more features than the Acura Navi...
The salesman showed me how to locate nearby gas stations, fast foods, grocery stores, etc etc and it has their phone numbers too. Pretty nice feature. I found the birds eye view to be of no advantage over the topical view. In fact it was more difficult to read the roads.
But when it comes down to it, you want the navi to be fast. When you're traveling down a highway and you make a wrong course, you want that thing to recalculate a route ASAP. That's the part I think sucks ass on the Infiniti

I thought your Lease was up in March and 2433.07 certainly isn’t going to get you very far in the Mercedes dealership ???

I don't know what's gonna be in my parking spot next. 2433.07 does go very far in a Mercedes Dealership, just enough to buy a hood ornament or keyring.
I'm actually gonna take out the A4 3.0 again later this week and the 330 again. I'll keep you updated.
