First time driving on actual snow in my 255-19 Blizzak LM-25's in my 2010 Avant S-Line. Let me tell you, it's pretty cool having an AWD car with rear-bias.

I was driving down some empty country roads and there was some slippery snow coming down so I decided to probe the limits of the car a bit. You can really tell the rear-bias of the new quattro when you step on the gas as you're taking a slight curve, if you nail it, the car immediately slides its tail. I never owned a car before where where you could do that, I have to say it's fun. After dark I was coming back from an errand with my son and we did doughnuts on the parking lot. Again, no handbrake required, just step on the gas.

And if you REALLY want it to be scary turn off ESP. I only did that for a few seconds and then quickly turned it back on. [o_o]

 

I love AWD. My dad has a 05 G35x and that thing grips the road like crazy in any kind of weather. I miss that planted feel when I drive my TL.

 

Thats one thing i wished i did when I had my A4 was to put snow tires on it.

Bet it would have been a blast! Cant imagine what the rear-biased quattro feels like with that setup!

 

Man that's what I missed from the old Chicago days .. playing in the snow .. lol ... here I'll have to drive 3-hr to be in the snow ....
