Fuel Injection cleaner

The instructions said "Up to 21 gallons."

If my truck holds 20 gallons, I use the entire bottle.

If my civic only holds 11 gallons, should I use half a bottle? Or use the entire bottle?

"Up to...." is not clear to me.

Is there any harm in it being more concentrated? Using Bleach as an example. It can make your white shirt whiter. But too much of it will burn a hole in your shirt.

"Up to...." That's why I'm asking the question.

It means that single bottle of treatment is effective from 1 gallon UP TO 21 gallons... I wouldn't really advise using 1 whole bottle for 1 gallon though

I would wait until the tank is close to mt and then dump it in. I haven't done that in a long time and have no idea if it would actually hurt the motor.

Correct. So how about 2 gallons, or 3 gallons, or 8 gallons. I hope you guys are understanding my question.

Use the entire bottle with a full tank of gas in your Civic

And S A CHO pretty much answered it. It can be used from 1-21 gallons. I have always added it (seafoam) when i had about 1/4 tank and ran it to E before filling up

We all completely understand the question, you're not understanding our answers.

Here, I'll simplify this for you; Step 1) Fill gas tank. Step 2) Pour in entire bottle of injector cleaner.

It really is that simple.

That is the answer, and it's what I've always done. So that should be it.

What I was hoping for is an answer as to the different levels of concentration would have an positive or negative effect.

Let me use the same example. Both with full tank of gas.

Would it clean the Civic better (because it'll be more concentrated due to a smaller tank)? On a truck with a 20 gallon tank, the cleaner would be less concentrated, therefore less effective?

P.S. Before anyone think I'm trying to waste your time, do a web search on Techron. There are people that have said if used in too high of a concentration, that it sometimes burns or damages the sock in the fuel tank.

Just hoping to ask here incase there are experts here.

fuel injector service

just got back from deaLER...and they suggested about 6 different things; replacing the tranns fluid because it is "burnt" $85, repl air and cabin filters $118, and "JB6" fuel injector cleaner service for $119.

Does the FI svc make sense? worth doing at dealer???

thx

Do the filters yourself for half the cost. I would check the color of the fluid to see if it's actually burnt. Use a bottle of tecron (sic)

Redline SI-1 is one of the best fuel cleaners on the market! Dump the whole bottle in your gas tank and refill your tank to full. Drive around and your done!

The filters can be changed yourself, you can buy then for 20 dollars each and install them in less than 20 minutes and save a ton of money.

As far as the transmission fluid goes, pull out the dipstick and wipe it on a towel, check the color. It should be a pinkish red. If it is brown or black it is indeed burnt! Your best be would be to use a better transmission fluid such as Redline...
