Yep, I knew it was Ranger, it sounds like he's a very good driver. But if Bdog's friend can almost match Ranger's time on stock tires... I wonder what he'd do on slicks.

Have to ask. We do both of these guys wait so long on the green before launching? I know it's a milk run, but it just seems so unnatural to me.

Maybe they want to get the revs 100% right

I was just talking to him and didn't realize the 2009 ZR-1's don't have launch control. Both his and Ranger's runs are all clutch and driver. He's driven a new Z06 and says the launch control is ok, but a good driver can do better.

If he could pull off Ranger's slick time on stock tires, what could he do with slicks? I'd love to ride shotgun on that run.

How did he stick the launch like that?? If i try to launch my Vette at ANY RPM above 1K while slipping the clutch, I get massive wheelspin. I'd LOVE to know his trick?? Does he not floor it right away? Did he leave the traction control on?

My guess is that he didn't go WOT right away or he had some major clutch slippage. However, if it is his own car, chances are he didn't go WOT. Like SouthernBoy said, it's probably his baby and he has to take care of it.

Not the same but if I launch my car under 1200 rpm it'll usually bog unless I get it perfect. Just practice I guess, though I haven't done it in a while. You have to get a feel for it, feed the gas slowly and smoothly until the tires start to grip, then you can lay into it. Again, don't slam the gas go the floor, use ankle motion to gradually give it gas. I used to practice on this nice strip of pavement near my old work. It's a road that leads to nowhere and it's about a 1/3 mile long... Perfect
