Friend is bidding on a J32A2 for his Del Sol

so, i just got a text from my friend that he is going to do a J32A2 swap for his Del Sol. he found a motor on ebay that he's bidding on, but at the moment, he is being out bidded.

Not too sure on the tranny choice, but his car is already quick. pretty much dead even with mine, cant imagine this car with a 3.2

hopefully this comes through. he's hoping to start next week if things work out

stay posted

any links i should tell him about if he doesnt get this certain motor. i sent him a link to assclowns thread for info.

Because you don't need rwd to be fast around a track.

h22 in a del sol is plenty IMO..

j32 will be gargantuous power.. i'd like to see how somebody harnesses that in a del sol body

Hmmm......if road course work is this Del Sol's intended purpose, not sure a J-swap is the first place I'd look.

That being said, it will undoubtedly be wicked fast in a straight line.

And phee, where did the Stewie sexy party avatar go? Love it.

H22 is weak. J3235 is better. My buddy and i are toying with dropping one (J series) into a old 89 CRX or our 91 Lude this summer for our Auto x car.

i didnt compare the 2 and i wasnt talking about leaving it stock

i said the h22 is enough for a del sol.
its too easy to pump HP out of the h series engines.
just b/c you put YOUR time into the J32a2 doesnt mean h22 powered cars are weak.. i was talking in terms of modding ability. everything you do with the J32 after bolt ons and FI is going to be custom and expensive.

dont know many people running 500+ hp with my dear old j32.. now the h22.. i've met multiple people in the 10 second range... with cars they can drive daily

OP maybe your friend can do this when he finishes his build

^ i dont think its fair to compare mod for mod.

the j is JUST not getting a mass produced turbo kit. i doubt building that del sol was cheap.

agreed, but we are talking about swapping these motors into a shell.. modding is the main motive here. j32 in a del sol is COOL no doubt, but it makes more sense to do a h or k swap if your going for a blazing fast car that has tons of aftermarket support.

^ it seems to me that the guy is going for for uniqueness than building it to be 500+hp.

its hardly unique anymore.

6 speed swaps on 2g tl's are harder to find than civics with j series

I haven't see a del sol with one. And you are right, there are alot more civics with j series but how many more civic "tuners" are there compared to 2G TL?

anyways, I don't know shit about engines or tuning I am am just gonna stay out of this
