The Forgotten Acura
Once upon a time Acura released a fun-to-drive car with excellent steering feel, an available manual transmission and a revvy motor. Oh and it had four doors.
No, I'm not thinking of the GS-R. Instead, this car had a well-crafted interior, an interior that to this day looks clean and well laid out.
I present to you, the ancestor of the TL and TLX, the Vigor...

I found one today, a GS model with a 5 speed. Going to have my mechanic take a peek at it.

Here's why I wouldn't touch it. Parts Parts Parts
1) low volume seller means very few junkyard cars for parts
2) link below shows how many parts are discontinued from Acura

I remember them from way back when. Believe they were only sold in the US for a couple of years. I would agree with NSXNEXT regarding parts unless you can use some Accord part x-ref.

Parts? The 1995 - 1998 2.5 TL has the same motor, just with OBD-II
In fact, the 1st gen TL is an evolution of the Vigor. The interior had more features but wasn't as luxurious though.

I had one of these for about a year back in high school! Was a fantastic car, and I took it from about 120K to 130K or something along those lines. Only problem I ever had was an ABS sensor after driving thru a flooded road. Was a great car, if I was a little more levelheaded back then I would have kept it longer! Even at the time (2002ish) I think we got it for only about 3K, and sold it for even more.
I still see one or two Vigors in the more urban areas of the Northeast, along with an occasional sighting of its contemporaries the Infiniti J30 and ES250.
That said, the segment has advanced fairly well, with the only exception being the initial styling of the 4G.

I love the styling of that car so much despite the car being slightly over 20 years old or 20 years old atleast. The aesthetics of the exterior looks decent while the interior looks just gorgeous! Very classy and elegant. I actually wouldn't mind owning a vigor but I still love my '05 TL for it's lines and curves and not to mention it is a descendant of the vigor.
