That poor car. I read where he spent about 80k, but where was the rest? All in labor?

Wow, that Z thread is really similar in terms of lies of the turbo, busted connectors, busting things up to make them fit, etc

250k? WOW. Hope this dude is super loaded to spend a quarter million on modifying an already capable car.

i don't know how it came out to 250k, but in any case the pictures are pretty telling. I dont know how you can explain that kind of work.

Especially for having built several GTRs (it seems) how the heck would you not know that the RHD and LHD turbo kits are different before ordering!? Dropping that kind of cash for a kit that doesnt even fit is incredulous.

If you read the thread, 250k wasn't on this one build/car, it was over a 4 year period of several builds/cars from what i read.

Seems like an easy lawsuit, of which this shop is apparently in a few of them.

Shame on the OP for not pulling the plug WAY earlier. You set a budget and a schedule from the outset, and 22 months sounds beyond absurd. When he didn't get his car in time for summer he should have pulled the project and walked.

Honestly... Wouldn't it seem odd to be shipping a RHD kit to america? Seems the supplier should have asked the question to confirm as well... Obv the shop should have known, but it seems ridiculously incompetant.

Not that far fetched honestly; a 1,000+whp kit will run $70-$90K on average for a GT-R, but that includes everything.

I think the OP's problem is that he originally settled on a kit worth $73K, & then wanted to go for big power which set him back another $70K (he should have stuck to his "in stages" plan originally). Add in all the extra stuff he bought, plus dyno time, engine rebuilds, & the unnecessary time spent on custom parts not even needed, it's not that shocking.

At the heart, it's mainly labor time that was not warranted. A GT-R running 1,200whp runs around $200,000 & that includes the car. This guy just ended up paying double because the car was stuck in the shop 3 times as long as it should have been.

Sounds like Sharif is lucky people with that much money have more to lose than some other GA residents.

One quote comes to mind. "A fool and their money will soon be parted."

Wow, just wow.

Exactly why I won't be modding my V wagon beyond basic bolt-ons. There are simply too many people out there who are working beyond their abilities in exchange for too much money.

*Goes out to garage and hugs V to reassure it I won't hurt it like this GT-R*
