not to change the subject... but I've been seeing M3 here and there (the new one), to me... that's more impressive, a LOT more

Lexus of Bellevue had 5 IS-Fs in the showroom a few weeks ago. The styling isn't my taste. I prefer the IS350 look better. The exhaust tips are horrible and the side air vents look out of place to me. The interior is typical Lexus-nice but isn't quite as sporty as I'd like. The price seems quite fair for all of the amenities that you get. I didn't test drive but I'm sure it would be the most fun Lexus I've ever driven.

Maybe the Benz, but bimmers are pretty solid as far as reliability goes. Whos to say the Lexus is going to be the most reliabile thing? Its their first high performance sedan and first 8spd tranny... Only time will tell, but I bet when something does go wrong on the Lex, it won't be a walk in the park to fix...

I know quite a few people that have had many lexi over the years and most of them had no problems. I'm sure that many of those had the first "something". i.e. first v8, first 7spd or whatever. I would much rather own a lexus out of warranty than any german car. Although my german car experiences have been great thus far.

i checked out the IS-F and the C63 last week...
I was just not happy with the IS-F, one of the annoyances was that the exhaust tips are molded into the bumper. They don't actually attach to the muffle, they are just sorta lined up with them. They car does not really have any presence to it like the C63 or the M3, it doesn't really seem all the special, especially where it's almost the same price as those two.
The C63 on the other hand was a complete beast. The sound of that engine is amazing. I thought it was a great package. I was only annoyed that it felt smaller than my TSX and that it had a $2100 dollar gas guzzler tax...

Shit you're right...but i'm sure theres a huge difference between the two.
The LS is the same way as far as molded exhaust outlines go.
If it came down to it, I would choose the E92 M3 for a great all around sports car, the AMG for a complete straight line monster, and an Audi RS4 if I wanted subtle aggression. All three of them look better than the ISF, inside and out

ISF is butt. sorry.
When i come across them i chuckle at the buyer, rather than gawking at the car. C63 FTW.
would much prefer a modded equivalent of an IS350. the ISF just looks plain stupid

Well, yes...the 8spd in the IS-F is tuned for performance, but I believe they are basically the same unit. Or the IS-F was built off the LS.

The blue is the only exclusive color to the IS F, otherwise the colors are what you will find on any other Lexus. It allows it to stand out from the regular ISx50. That would be my guess.

why is it that its a death sentance? Are kids just that stupid in US? I hear all these drag racing stories on the streets and kids getting killed all the time. I dont hear anything like this happening in canada (maybe I am wrong). in the last 3 years, done up cars have been imported from japan and all the 18-19-20 year old kids are driving them and still you dont hear about accidents and street racing. I guess we just arent into fast and the furious thing as much as US teen ricers

your younger car crowd must not get down like we get down... and i'm not saying this to be "cool"
Street racing is huge in the states, from ricers in pieces of crap outta high school to 351 cleveland 69 mach one's, it varies.

I am currently in the market for a high performance sport sedan. Looked at the usual suspects: M3, RS-4, and IS-F.
Personally, bang for the buck, customer service, reliablity, and fun factor goes to the IS-F.
BMW has been and always will be the bench mark, but the comfort for daily driving isn't there in the new M3, especially with that artifical throttle input feel. I am looking strictly at sedans so, my needs are very specific.

^ I would get M3 without even thinking about other competitors.

It would be hard to choose from the RS4, M3, and C63 as far as sedans go. The M3 is the only one offered in 2 door though...which i always found odd. I guess theres the CLK63 AMG and the upcoming RS5 though...

I like it exterior and interior wise and even the engine and the exhaust note. BUT, no manual, no care. Plus the way the exhaust tips are is ass. CTS-V ftmfw

This will sound insane, but if someone said, look I'll trade you your 97' CL for this IS-F, but you cant change anything on the car cosmetically. I'd keep the CL. The IS-F is just plain ugly and if I was getting a new car........def. an M3

The fake exhaust tip is a BIG turn off for me.
