Foglight question

One of my good friends has a lightly modified 05 Mustang GT.

He has an aftermarket headlight housing with HID, and just installed a new pair of yellow bulbs for his fog lights. But the problem is that the foglights stay lit on for about 3 seconds, then turn off itself. When he turns off/on again, it repeats the same thing again.

What would be the problem here?

How to fix?

Thank you guys very much in advance.

It sounds like it's pull some stored charge and then doesn't have enough current to keep them lit. Kind of like what happens when you have a flash light that is dying and you turn it off for a moment then turn it on and the bulb is lit up bright for a second and then dies.

I could be way off base but it seems like it has to be something in regards to the supply.

most likely the wires cannot supply the proper voltage to light the bulbs, try using a relay kit/harness that most HID kit sellers have and that should solve it.

+1

A relay for each set of HIDs is a must imo.

A kit harness with proper amperage fuse will solve his problem.
