first time @ the 1/4 track in my M5..... (updated second pass -- 12.34@117)
Went to the track yesterday. Temp was in the upper 50's. 1/4 tank of gas. Best run was with launch control mode:
2.10 60'
12.65@118MPH
Out of 6 passes that was my best 60' of the night and obviously ended up being my best ET. I was trapping 117-118 all night so I know if I can get that 60' down I can go 12.20 or 12.30. This car is not made to be a drag car, Its very hard to get out the hole. My front wheel drive cl-s used to cut equal or better 60' times. I will be going back asap to shoot for the 1.9 or 2.0 60' to put me in the low 12's.
2.10 60'

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
I have Bridgestone RE050A's, and they would be good for you once warm. Or the Dunlop Direzza Star Spec's.
Nice run....

Lol first thing I thought of when reading this was that video of the guy in the M3 when he blew out his rear end at the drag strip. Meh, cars are meant to be driven, if you play you gotta pay... eventually. Might as well have fun with it as long as it's on a track.
Sick times btw! I always forget how incredibly fast M5s are.

Nice run! Now I should smack you in the ballz son!! Don't drag race your Nice car!!! These cars aren't made for that type of redneck stuff. Take your ride to your local track--> http://mvptracktime.com/ and drive this thing the way it should! besides its WWAAAAAAYYYY more fun!
I love the drag strip, been going there for 8 years.
I'm not into the track courses, I have a higher chance of crashing the car on some high speed turns, i rather just go fast in a straight line.

There is nothing wrong w/ drag racing any vehicle.....obviously you have to be polite to your vehicle though.

Haha what a tool.
I don't think that 300 was turbo'd either, and if it truely was, he had to be taking it real easy.

1st off that guy in the video is a complete tool
2nd, hes launching his car @ 3000 rpm, i launch mine from idle. and even if something breaks that's a risk i'm willing to take. I didn't buy a ///m car to park it in the garage and just look at it.
btw,
went back to the track today.
1.86 60'
12.34@117.78 mph
thats more like it!!!!

went to track again, 12.34@117
2nd time at the track with the my new car this week
finally found out the key to launching this thing. my first pass I actually spun all of first and part of 2nd(also hit the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift) that netted me a 13.0, worst run of the night.
made 8 passes after that, all with 60's in the 1.8x range
best pass came on a 1.86 60' ended up with a time of 12.34@117.78 mph!!
btw,
got my ass handed to twice by a cts-v, those things are quick. Best he ran all night was 12.0, with an automatic, only 800 miles on it. didnt even have to adjust his tire pressure.
also saw a zr1 at the track but he couldn't even break 12's

On the CTS-V, one of the CTS-V tuners has a ECM reprogram mod that is kind of like launch control. I'm planning to buy it and try it. Which track do you go to BTW? I'm planning on going to Dragway 42, which is an hour from me.

Nice times. I played around with an newer M5 in my Mustang a few weeks ago. They move pretty well. Now I am curious to see what my car runs at the track.
