Finally decided to get rid of the Tahoe...

After paying over $3.20 a gallon the last few times at the pump and the amount of driving I do will be increasing, I have decided to end my relationship with the Tahoe. I am having a damn hard time narrowing down the choices so I thought I would attempt to get a groups consensus.

If there are any others you can think of that I have missed, let me know.

My guidelines for the car are:
- Must be auto (had a stick once and will not again until retirement)
- RWD or FWD
- Needs "some" amount of luxury/comfort to it
- around 30MPG on the highway

I was going to suggest the new Camry V6 or Camry Hybrid. Then I noticed that you owned a C32 at one point so I figure camry is a no.

Have you checked out the new IS and GS lexus? Bmw? Infiniti? the list goes on and on...

What are you trying to spend on a new vehicle? What will be it's primary use?

Out of those choices... the TL seems the best bang for the buck besides the Camry.

How bout an IS350?

I actually just got rid of my 03 Z71 for the same reasons. I also wanted something that was a bit luxurious, but wasn't overly priced. I ended up going for the TL because it has the most luxury and amenities for it's price. I looked at the 350, the G35 sedan, and the bimmer. They were all great cars, but none could match the bang for the buck that the TL had.

Yep. Based off of everything I've seen, the trade in will be around $27,000.

Get the Maxima 3.5SE fully-loaded with the bucket seats in the back and the burnt orange leather, and enjoy the torque steer!! haha... either that, or the TL?

Would an M35 Sport be a stretch here in terms of price? Of course I'm going to be biased to the M for the rest of my time on this board, but still, it's a great car for the money. You'd be surprised how quickly the dealers want to get rid of the RWD M's these days, considering the M35x sells like hot cakes.

I thought about the M35 Sport until I built one that was $50,000 plus. Your M for that price, sure...but the M35 for that much is ridiculous.

The TSX surely is a nice bang for the buck. I love mine so that gets my vote.

My 06 Camry XLE V6 gives me 22/28. Not stunning mileage. Consider an Accord EX with a 4 cyclinder. That will give great mileage. I've owned the Accord 4 cyl in LX & EX. Trust me, you want the EX.

If you are doing alot of freeway, the Hybrid may not work since the electric engine kicks in at slower speeds (City driving). At least that is how I understand it.

I have the EX-V6 6MT coupe and I average 22mpg city now and 33 highway, and I'm not afraid of VTEC . My motor has 1612km on it (roughly 1000 miles).
