A few autox vids from today and other various car destroying fun here in Potatoville.
so i looked around and the motorsports section of the site was basically just news stuff. so hopefully this is the right area to post stuff like this. if not mods feel free to merge it into my intro/build thread (only other thread Ive started, lol).
i know it just weakass parkinglot racing, but its all we have here in idaho. closest track is in utah 5+ hours away and we dont have a tow rig.
a few from today. this was my fastest run, a 43.62x.
second fastest, a 43.65x.
third, a 43.7xx
and just a random one was I trying to get the gauges with. I think this one was a 44.xxx.
We also do rallyx. its a little different than the typical stuff done around the nation as we just charge across a small road across the desert vs a course in a dirt parkinglot. end result is the same. one car at a time on a timed course. best part is you dont have to work to play like most venues. just show and drive
a couple from last summer.
we are also fortunate to have a few hillclimbs in our backyard.
this is freezeout hillclimb. this year will be the 46th consecutive year for this race.
in a buddys 06 MR evo. had a little snag, didnt feel that outta shape....
and what the corner worker saw of the little snag...a perfect example of never lift.
this is a buddy at bogus basin hillclimb. supposidly the fastest ms3 in the nation...
and this is me at pioneer mountian in polaris montana on our ST civic. half mile longer than bogus basin, and we run really close to the same times
another deal we started doing last summer was grip/drift events. back and fourth (about 45min to an hour) sessions for drift and grip cars. this was a few laps of one of our days out late last season.

^^^ would jump at the chance!!
thanks for the compliment guys! really wish we had a real track to play on here, but we make the best of what we have.
And ya, Bogus Basin can be a ton of fun, but man thier snowfall over the last 10 years has dwindled to nill. this year was thier latest opening to date (jan 22nd ish). its sad I spend way more time riding mt bikes up in that area. no matter what, being a car guy, even if the snow sucked, the drive up is a kick in the ass most everytime, lol.
I use this setup: http://www.vio-pov.com/
the gopros have come a long way since they first came out, but they lack something I need. a playback feature. for automotive stuff, the gopro is the ticket cause its easy to setup and you can be pretty confident that your aimed in a decent area. on a bike or snowboard helmet, not so much. it sucks getting home after spending a day trying to get some good mt bike footage only to find out all you recorded all day was the top 3" of the guy in front of you helmet, or nothing but your top tube and handlebars, lol. with the VIO, you can check your footage throughout the day and know your getting decent footage. plus the remote control is tits

I did overhear something about that just this past weekend. will have to check it out.
i still really like the lipstick lense though. you can get it into a lot of places where the gopro wont fit.
oh, and thank you!
which one? i have the 2 89's in my garage, but the 91's I havent got around to putting in there yet...im lazy sometimes.

thank you!
lol, ya, people either lov'em or hat'em around here, but there is a large following. nationally, these cars have owned the SCCA ST class all but one year since the class was spawned.
and I rarely hear people refer to them as ED's. I still never figured out why they ended up being called by thier jdm name. none of the other chassis are like that. but ya, Im prety sure your right titling a thread with ED is gonna make people wonder, lol.
heres the current stable.
91 Si.
91 RT.
89 RT.
89 Si.
Have owned many of these cars. I even pioneered the first awd gsr rt wagon (crv tranny, dl, & rear diff). Still the only one to the best of my knowledge. was a really fun car, but had to sell cause wife was having health problems and we needed some cash for bills.
Im currently running the 89 Si this autox season until the red wagon is done. went boost on it with a full FJ dist buildkit. small snail, but hoping for around 300 on the ground. i dont need to go 200mph, i just need to get to 100 really fast, lol.
ALL of them. I had an 88 hatch and I have a stripped and caged 90 hatch that was going to receive a K swap, but that project stalled. Im having a hard time selling it because no one likes the ED chassis around here
