fast all-boost auto Supra

yes yes I know, "fast Supra" is pretty redundant... but seriously this is Ryan Woon's '97 auto Supra running 8.45 @ 162, all-boost. I believe this is a record - not sure if its for all Supras, or for all auto Supras... more details as they become available..

It's funny how the Supra is using an American Made TH400 tranny.

I think americans got the tranny part down right. They just need to go to europe and japan and learn how to put a car together.

I agree with that. Although the GM small block is still a dominant force in todays advanced engine. What GM does all motor, other manufacteres need boost or more cylinders and displacment.

^^^^^agreed. GM makes the world's best auto tranny without question, they can handle much much more power than any other auto tranny bar none, their small blocks are bulletproof too, it's just the rest of the car's integrity GM has problems with.

if a Supra built right it can be INSANE.I'm talking Z06 beater. . but you'll have more invested than buying a new Z06. Buy the time you buy a used TT Supra tear everything down,"beef it up"(transmission, motor, coilovers, rims, tires, sway bars, etc) you're better off to go get a new Z06.

it doesn't take much to a supra to hang if beat a Z06, you definately wouldn't of invested more then buying a new Z06

^^^ you can buy a used one in semi-decent shape for maybe 18-24k, put about 10-12k in it and have a reliable 600-700 rwhp car. Probably costs even less to do these days... haven't checked prices in a long while....

nope Supra TT's around here run for roughly 25g's for descent respectable miles

and it doesnt take much to get them going real fast

BPU+++ is supposedly good for a really low 12 / you can dip 11's with slicks

I said 24k... off by 1k, gimme a break I would imagine an 18k'er is gonna be a bit trashed, lol.

Ok, my turn I dunno how they're running em these days, with so many single-turbos around - but just BPU is good for 12.0-ish with DR's and a killer launch. Don't need BPU+++ to run low 12's. Hell back in the day (1999, lol) my friend ran 11.9 with JUST a downpipe and DR's. That's right, 11-sec with sub-BPU mods. 6-speed. He is a killer driver tho. The time was 11.9 @ 114 w/ a 1.7 sec 60'...

Should be lower times than that. An all motor LS1 with bolt ons and slicks can get low 12's, high 11's.
