F*ck- Selling my VOLKS!

Well, I think you guys remember the volks I purchased last week. I was a bit skeptical on the offsets, but the vendor assured me they were fine. The problem I had was with the rear. 19x10.5 (21+ offset). At first I thought this would be hella aggressive and may not work, but to be honest with you guys, my offset knowledgebase was lacking at the time. Since then I know proper offsets, etc. for the Z. I mounted 285 tires on these rear wheels and they literally go past the fender about 5 mm's! I was pissed. Of course the Vendor stood by his recommendation. I was pissed because the only way I could make this work was to cut my rear fenders, SLAM the car and run some ridiculous offset. Option 2 was to use 275 width tires STRETCHED (which look horrible imo). I know alot of the volk clients from the west coast run the second setup which I dont get. Camber is bad and the tire contact on the road is retarded. Anyways, found a local buyer so I'm selling these to this guy *HOPEFULLY* today. He's getting a great deal (COST for tires and COST for wheels). Literally, the price Mackin sells these wheels to vendors. I'm considering the SSR Professors (black spokes). I can get PERFECT offset and align my car perfectly. The SSR's are 3 piece forged wheels. What do you guys think? For sure a departure from my old style, this is a more racer style imo.

Honestly, your original wheels look better than those SSRs. Those SSRs look like :poop:

Did you test fit your new wheels?

As far as the fitment goes, they look good. As long as they sit inside the fender at the top (which it looks like they do) I think its fine...

Iforged/DPR/HRE.....TOO much $$$$$ for me, cant get any good deals on those. As far as the old rims go, I was just tired of them... had them for 3 years. Jeasl, knows how that goes because I've seen him go through a crapload of wheels... lol!

volks were tested and were HORRIBLE. The SSR's need no test fit, I know they will work with some really wide tires based on the specs (width, offsets, etc).

honestly bro, if you like that style of wheel. I'd go w/the work meister. The ssr professors are very soft. Bend really easily just a word of warning.

DPEs arent THAT expensive, call someone and get some quotes.

I just think you dont want to wait for wheels.

err what, DPE are custom made to YOUR car. You will get the biggest rear lip with no rubbing if you wanted to. Even tell them that you have a BBK and they will adjust your offset to make sure they clear. They also have a huge list of different color finishes...

It takes i think 6-8 weeks to get them made.

http://www.dpengineering.cc/wheels.htm for styles.

1k each is retail you noob. You can get them cheaper.

Also look into J-line wheels. Same custom idea but cheaper.

He is sopposed to call me tomorrow. And yes, he is being pretty difficult in this situation. I also have someone who wants the wheels and tires. I met with him today and he LOVES them. He's not sure if he'll have the cash, so he's going to call me tomorrow. I'm literally giving these wheels away! I'm selling the wheels/centercaps/and tires at fckn wholesale price. The exact same price Mackin sells to distributers. For those who wanted to see the wheels:

It's a pity they dont fit, because I really liked them....

After some thought, I'm really not 100% sold on these wheels...they would be somewhat of a compromise. I think my next wheels I must LOVE.

SF winnings are played on Zs IMO. A nice polished DPE mesh wheel would look best I think...the professors are also pretty nice they kinda look like the junction produce wheels.....

No, they extend past the fender 5mm. MIGHT have a G35 owner purchase these, their rear fenders have a bit more room.

do you have a 350z? I can get you a good price from a vendor in NY for those professors if you are interested. And yes, I am now looking at either iforged, jlines, or DPE. Thanks Jesal and Arnold for the help... Arnold, check your email bro!

hmm.. didnt think +21 would be all that bad, I went with te37 (+22 offset) time attacks and from the pictures I've seen its aggressive but still a little room to the fender. (This is not my car, I just got the wheels in this week)

the guys on +22 are MOST LIKELY slamming their cars and running 275 tires. 275 tires on a 10.5" wheel...

I know it, I ran 285's on my 10.5 SF Winnings.. I just didnt know +22 was so aggressive with the TE37's, the SF Winnings I had were +17 on the rear.

well, the saga continues. Wheels and Tires were shipped to New Jersey. After shipping and everything, I only lost about $30 on the deal... but get this, 3 out of 4 wheels got damaged during the shipping. I filed a claim through Fedex and they are picking them up tomorrow for inspection, so I may or may not get reimbursed. FCK!!!!!

If Fedex doesnt pay for the damage of course I will fight it out, if nothing pans out then I will just simply refinish the wheels and sell them locally for a cheap price.... worse case sceanario....I'll lose like $600-700. Best case sceanario, my claim goes through, refund the buyer, I refinish the wheels and then make a profit. LOL! Would Fedex keep the wheels if they paid for the claim?

BUT.... the good news is that the order for Jlines are going in on Monday, got lucky with a sponsorship price directly from Jlines themselves.

Or you can stop being weird and just stretch the tires.... (i like the look)

Do that for a year then get different wheels. You would lose that much anyways.

synth ...

Another solution to your dilemma is to give the rims to your favourite Canadian 2nd gen TL moderator ... He might be getting into a G35c in the new year so those rims would work.

Sorry about your bad luck. And I am still very surprised at why a 350Z and a 1st gen G35c have different wheel offsets.
