I definitely agree with Water on the APC-rice correlation. Any APC product on your car pretty much scream Pep Boys = Rice.

But IMO non-OEM Altezzas are rice; OEM Altezzas (IS300, 5.5G Maxima, 3G Altima) are not.

yeah i agree because certain cars from the factory they can "get away" with factory altezzas like the ones stated above. but when guys put them on Neons,Civics, Sexpeditions i mean Expeditions

it's kind of cheesey

As far as history is concerned...you sir hit the nail on the head. The definition *might be slightly changed today...but that was the earliest time I've heard people use it in that term.
