Everyone is a ricer!!

Everyone nowadays is a ricer it seems like. No matter what you do to your car, someone, somewhere is gonna call you a ricer.

Maybe you switched out your headlight bulbs...ricer.
Maybe you bought rims and didnt drop it....ricer.
Maybe you have a sticker on your car...ricer.
Maybe you switched out exhausts....ricer.
Maybe you put different emblems on your car....ricer.
Maybe you have tv's in your car...ricer.
Maybe you go to car meets...ricer.

see what i mean, no matter what, it seems that anything counts as being ricer nowadays. The other day i heard a kid talking about an automatic Supra, saying the guy was a ricer cuz he didnt have a 5spd. So i wanna know, what constitutes no rice at all?? Stock??

Fuck 'em. Do what you want to your car. No matter what you do, there is always someone who is gonna hate.
A lot of times it just means they like it but don't know how to give you a compliment.

I'm still stock, and I still get shit about being a "ricer".

Sometimes it's not the mods, it's just the make and model

I always thought that rice was putting things onto the car that doesn't actually do anything (ex. Neons, big ass spoilers, etc....)

We prefer the term "car enthusiasts" .

I didn't do any of the listed items;

Maybe you switched out your headlight bulbs...ricer.
Maybe you bought rims and didnt drop it....ricer.
Maybe you have a sticker on your car...ricer.
Maybe you switched out exhausts....ricer.
Maybe you put different emblems on your car....ricer.

Maybe you go to car meets...ricer.

Those haters are just jealous!

What I was in college, that's what everyone's mentality was. If you drove a modified import car (Japanese or European), the driver AND car were dubbed "rice". Whether a 540i on Hamanns, a C320 on Brabus rims, or even a TL on Racing Harts, it didn't matter. That even included Asians who drove modified American cars/trucks whether classic or modern-day... Japanese owner of a 95 Z28, Filipino owner of a raised Chevy Blazer, etc. However, "rice" was never mentioned or thought about when the driver was non-Asian and drove a modified American car/truck. We're talkin' what you'd see on Spike TV weekends... Trucks, Popular Hot Rod, Horsepower TV, etc.

Thats I always thought too, not even neons though just crap on cars that arent meant to be on it. like a huge exhaust on a 90 civic and huge chrome 20s just to be loud and obnoxious. Basically anythign aftermarket that us worht more then your car.

Oh the nitrous is gonna serve a function, im' gonna up the shot on stock engine, probably to about 75, and bascially shoot it whereever i go. I'm gonna try to take out as many cars as possible with my new nitrous kit. It doesnt matter that i have a 4cyl automatic with an air suspension, or a huge stereo, i'm goin V8 hunting. All day, every day. I'm gonna do as much illegal street racing as possible.

The "Fast and the Furious" movies made the word "ricer" into a common household word....

To the domestic car crowd (in general), a brand new Lexus LS430 and a crapped out 94 Civic are both rice.

this is what constitutes a ricer to me:

- Huge ass wing
- agressive body kit on stock wheels
- too over the top body kits
- TRD stickers on Hondas Mugen on Toyotas.. etc etc.
- putting stickers of companys whos product(s) are NOT installed in the car
- altezza lights ( soo played out)
- fire extinguisher in the car
- windshield washer lights
- undercar neon on stock cars
- BIg noisy exhausts thats not even catback
- dual exhausts on a 4 cylinder
- vinyl design on stock cars
- cheesy ass japanese/chinese writing vinyl stickers
- Nike symbol on your car.. lolz
- chrome hubcaps to pretend you have rims.
- Monster tachs on automatic cars
- Monster tachs on manual stock cars .. stock meaning no engine work done to rev to 9-10K rpm.. boltons dont count.
- Large HONDA or ACURA vinyl banners

I think that should cover it.. if i forgot some feel free to add.. =)

These are the primary ricer indicators. I can't call Altezza taillights rice in my case mainly because my 2002 Maxima came that way stock. And I'm not willing to swap into Y2K/2K1 tails.

this is what iv'e been tryin to figure out? what the hell does "rice" mean???
i've kinda came to a conclusion that it was a term used by the rednecks from the hills of west virginia to hate on imports?
for example: from a previous post, a sticker, wing, muffler makes a car a "rice"?? wtf??
i'm really confused?
what does any of these have to do with rice?
a Supra came with a large spoiler, does it mean its a "rice" car or a "rice" spoiler??
911 whaletail spoilers, is it large enough to be considered a rice spoiler??
maybe it came from the jealousy of the mullet sportin rednecks when they got run down by a Civc in their domestic ride and they needed something to make them feel better so they went back to 5th grade and started the name calling game?
and why the term "rice" of all the other names?
or is it a racial thing against Asian peeps?

Damn, I might have mistaken the name Ricer. All those years I thought Ricer is refering to imports cars taken out and driven like a race car by "racer want to be". If only I have know they were racist:angry: I would have smoke them in their Escort,Cavalier, Corsica, Beretta,Cutlass quad 4, Thunderbird, and etc

The first time I heard the term 'rice' when used in reference to a car was when I first got my license...circa 1985. I showed up for school the next day with a 1974 Toyota Corona and was asked by a 1970s era Chevy Nova driving classmate: "how much did u pay for that rice burner?" --- Rice 101, that day.

I always thought the terms ricer and rice-burner was coined by the Harley bikers who labeled the jap bikes with it in the 1960's.

I like to think of the luxury lines such as Lexus, Acura and Infinity, not so much as "Rice" but more like "Sushi"

rice is doing stupid or retarded looking things to your car. like Altezza taillights. ANYTHING FROM APC.
It's trying to soup up your car for cheap and it looks retarded.
Guys and girls can soup up their cars but don't have a 9.99 budget.
a guy on here was trying to sell his S2K (he dumped a SH!TLOAD of money in) probably around 70-80k no including labor or time to run down parts. because a new S2K about 30 k and he had something like 40 k in aftermarket parts. That car was crazy hot.

what i'm trying to say is it's okay to build up your car but the cheapest isn't always the best
