Escort Max 2 radar detector for $400

Not sure how long this will last. Marked down by $200. BBY also has them for $430, but BBY will price match Amazon and if you have a BBY credit card, you can get 12-months interest-free financing. I just picked one up today from BBY. The earlier firmware versions had some issues with the DSP programming, but they seemed to have cleared most of that up.

If you don't care about/need the built-in bluetooth, you can get the Escort Max for $300 (also marked down by $200) from Newegg. This one is a Shell Shocker deal, so it will probably be gone in less than a day:

thanks for the link... i found myself using my V1 less and less lately since Waze has come out... on my DD to work, Waze does me just fine to give me traffic updates and police notifications... on road trips, like the one i took this weekend, i'll have both up... most times, Waze would notify my of Police before the V1 would even start beeping... nowadays with all newer cars retrofitted with collision prevention monitors, it trips my V1 so much i find myself muting it more often...

i wonder is this is the doom of radar detectors with social mapping... even still, if that is the case and prices drop like this, i'll still have a radar detector in every car...

Yeah, the adaptive cruise control and blind spot radars were setting my old 8500 off all the time and it was driving me crazy. Hopefully this newer generation with DSP will reduce all those false alarms..

FWIW, Cops/Highway Patrol around here don't use K-band so I disable it on my V1 and don't get get as many false alarms for ACC and such...

I definitely use Waze/V1 in conjunction with one another though.

I thought V1 had updated the firmware to help address that issue? Maybe not...

Damn you...I've been watching these for a while and that deal was just way too good to pass up. In all seriousness, though, thanks for passing this on. It really is a genuinely good deal.

Enjoy! Be sure you update the firmware and database as soon as you get it. Mine was at 1.6 out of the box and 1.7 is the latest. You have to register it first at Escort's website so that the update software will recognize the serial #. You can get the serial # by holding the Mute and Mrk buttons while powering on.

How does this one stack up to the ones I've heard about?
