Just wanted to compile a list of things for an engine tune-up. There was a bunch of crap I remembered, but I just forgot. I know I'm missing several things, so add to the list if you can, please. FYI I am going to do this on a 1997 Honda Civic EX w/ 128000 miles

Oil change (its about time anyway)
new spark plugs
New spark plug wires
clean and lube throttle body
clean IACV
change air filter

and should I reset the ECU?

On a sidenote.... if I seafoamed the car, would it be recommended to do all of the above afterwards? Thanks

 

Doesn't resetting the ECU merely involve disconnecting the battery? If so I would expect you to do so if you're going to take out the spark plugs.

 

fuel filter....
cap and rotor...
i would also give the engine a wash after all is done too..

 

why not clean the throttle body and clean out the intake manifold while at it?

 

Tranny and brake fluid. Coolant.

 

Valve adjustment and check timing.
