Drove a Magnum SRT8

Stopped by the dealer to check these out. After testing a magnum r/t a couple months ago.

first off. The interior is MUCH nicer then regular magnums. Seat bolstering is awesome. Navi is decent. It comes in actual black. which the other trims dont.

The exterior. The body kit is subtle yet aggressive. the 20 inch wheels are HOT.

The engine note. sublte yet deep at idle. roars when you floor it.

fast? ummm fuck yes.

handling...I was disappointed when I drove the R/t at how soft and floaty the suspenion was. The SRT...STIFF and nice.

The car is flat out awesome...with the exception of still having lag in the sports shift. And the fact there is no stick shift option.

At 40k the combination of utility and all out muscle are a steal.

the shame is the fucking 10K dealer markup...fuck that...I'll keep looking at S4 Avants

The interior still looks like shit, and that's where I'd be most of the time if I were driving it, IMHO...Same thing goes for the Magnum and 300, but the 300 has a "slightly" nicer interior, still shit tho..

Well being in LA I spend a fair amount of time in my car too. And I didnt think the interior was bad at all. Actually quite nice for a domestic car. much much better with the Navi option. And the new seats and everything (gauges, etc) make it much much better.

but we all have our opinions.

It's alot better then GM, Ford, & DC of the past Domestic's have always been lacking in interior quailty. That's somethign that doesn't bother me really. As long as it looks ok to me. It's not a deal breaker

Same kind of markup for the 300C SRT-8....dealers are asking at least $5,000 over list for the POS

Yeah the 300 SRT & Magnum SRT both have the markup in most area's. It will drop. The SRT Cross Fire had a simliar markeup, & they are selling at or below invoice now.

The Dodge/Chrysler SRT's are Great Cars. We had them for IMPA for journalists and members on the Poconos Speadway on the 8-9th. The cars handled great on the track, and they journalists all loved the SRT's. We had a SRT-6 Crossfire, SRT-8 Magnum and 300C, and a SRT-10 Dodge Ram Quad Cab.

The key with the Sport Shift, is Don't Use It. Let the car shift on its own. It will shift better in D than Sport Shift. Just pound the Gas and Smile

Yeah the salesman was saying if you just floor it, the car will redline everygear on its own.....i could just see the gas gauge dropping.

I really did like the car...even though its not a stick shift. damned markups...dealer was like..what if we meet halfway on the markup. nope.

I love the SRT cars (Magnum, Charger and 300C). I'm seriously considering one of them as my next car
