Drove a 745 I

Just got finished driving a 745 I. Damn I love everything about it; except for that piece of shit I-drive. Half the time I was driving; I was trying to figure out how to turn of the A/C and change the radio station. Whatever happened to simplicity? The car handles pretty well for its size; has real good power up top, brakes are sensitive, quiet, comfortable. I HATE I-DRIVE!!!

lol....all the reviews given to the car when it first came out, they all complained about the I-drive saying that people were not ready for it cause of its complexity...

trying to operate I-drive is like trying to dodge rain drops.

my mom drives a 7 and she hasnt had problems with I-drive. the voice commands make things pretty simple and the general a/c controls are seperate, but the car does have some serious computer glitches.

a transmission control module has failed twice not letting it shift past 3rd and fuel sensors for both sides of the tank have failed way to many times to count.

1 year old car = 5 times at the dealer (towed twice)

Schweet...for the price on one of one of those, I'd expect it to be all that and a bag of chips. And then some.

obviously I-Drive is not made for someone to become familar with it in one day. Takes patience to understand it, but once you do, it's worth it.

We have 5 of them in the family. My uncle and cousin have had no problems. Another cousin is on his 2nd (first was lemoned). My dad and brother both bought used ones last year, my brother is now in discussions w/ having them give him a full refund and a new car at under invoice. My dads has also had nothing but problems, alternator, I-drive, a bunch of other shit.

one of my parents neighbors just had his lemoned and they cut him a sweet deal on a 645, but it was still a shame that such an expensive car had so many problems. hope everything works out for your dad and brother

There was a comparison of the new 7 series, A8, S430, Phaeton, and the new Jaguard (forget the name) in Road and Track and the 7 series got last. Their major complaint was I drive and all the computerized things on the car.

exactly why my brother and dad bought 02's, they paid around 50K a year ago and the cars both had less then 10K. You can't beat buying a used car w/ BMW's certified cars

Could the depreciation be a result of the overhauled design, body, etc? The current design wasn't around in '02, was it?
